This site has generated several "verb forms" of its own over the years.  The latest being to "Howie" an intersection when he went from 0 to 60 to 0 in the space of two lanes cutting a massive hole shot that just happened to be going an entirely different direction than the other 8 or 9 bikes he was riding with.  I think another alternative word form has just been christened though.  Done so completely by its own example too.  A Rufus.

As in:

Pardon me, I need to go take a Rufus  :toilet: .

At least there is some satisfaction to this latter usage.

The picture of the red motorcycle below this is very nice. It looks a lot like the motorcycle Mr. Big Daddy calls a SERK. Is that what it is ? I like red. I had a red firetruck I could peddle everywhere when I was a young boy. I notice there are some firemen who are members of this site. Do any of them have red motorcycles ? Are you are fireman ?

My friend Spiderman said I should stop being a nerd and try to be a bit more cool. I'm going to watch some Rap videos and see if I can pick up the lingo. Do bikers rap ?

Thanking you ahead of time for your friendly advice,

I be Rufus ( is that cool talk ?)

Don,
Rufus wasn't the first to cross the line by a long shot. Just the most obvious. And isn't that what some people are really all about. Being so obvious in one way that no one can see beyond it. I'll admit some of what my boy Rufus has posted has been a bit weird, but his posts are only more obvious than some of the between the lines chit that gets put out on the site. People hide digs at others in seemingly innocuous posts that play both sides of the street. People are aligned with others whom they act as if they're not. Rufus' game is mindfreak. There's a dozen levels to everything he's posted. There's at least 20 members his posts have had a message for. He's even said some things aimed at those who would attack you my friend.
Rufus is real Don, he lives in Maine and rides an 1100 BMW K model. He's a true Beemer freak and never has understood what I see in Harley's. He's a computer geek and yes a Merchant Marine Captain for the past 35 years. He's my older brother and Rufus is his middle name. He was named for our father and grandfather. He does have a wife named Caryn and the woman is the bane of my existence. He knows I can't stand her and he's like " she's not your problem brother "  He's posted some stuff I asked him to which I sent him via e-mail. He and I have been laughing our asses off.

If we offended anyone I apologize for both of us. I set out to have some fun and he was my accomplice.

Lines vary for everyone Brian.  Just because you enjoyed the gag doesn't mean it didn't wear thin elsewhere my friend.  Yours is not the only measure.  And it's not the measure here.  We respect each others limits which is why you and I get along so well.  But don't ask me to be amused rather than not just because it's you and the alter ego you've now told me was both you and your brother.  After all, it's almost as if you lied to me (one time or the other).  Because we're friends I take it as the gag that you meant it to be.  I do that as a conscious choice to respect our friendship.  Doesn't mean I enjoyed it though.

Well if my very good friend BB says that Rufus is his older brother, I am remiss in not making sure to offer my standard - A Big CVO Welcome to You Rufus.
This whole thread has been a little weird, but funny as heck.  It reminds me of when I went to a Halloween party, many years ago, and my roommate and best friend dressed up in a costume that completely camouflaged who she was.  She kept trying to stand next to me and was always in my space. It so freaked me out, I wasn't very nice to her.  When I finally found out who she was, I was so sorry, cause we loved each other, as best friends do, and I hated that I had not been as nice to her as she so deserved.

Rufus, welcome to the sight.  Nice to hear your looking for a Harley.   I just got mine and I love it.  Before I was riding a BMW, but it was a piece of chit, glad to get rid of it.

Rufus has jealousy issues. Seems to me he's just trying to grab attention. Is that a common trait of Maine residents or just an isolated incident? He reminds me of gradeschool kids who HATE to share their new ball at recess. He would be in the chess club, glee club, and debate team and rode a moped to school.

Gents,

Rufus has left the building.  Account has been deleted so the user is no longer active.  It's likely that Brian is satisfied with that outcome as likely is everyone else.  Let's pick on Neal now.
