Colo Spgs to Sedona
« on: May 24, 2007, 12:36:44 PM »

Last week Nikki and I started off our riding season with a trip to some of our favorite areas in western Colorado and into Arizona. From Colorado Springs we went over to Grand Junction and then headed south down the western edge of the state. Some of our favorites there are Gateway, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, and Durango. From there we dropped into Arizona for a short way and then went north into Utah to catch Mexican Hat. Heading back south then took us through Monument Valley and back into Arizona. We went on from there to Sedona Arizona. That ended the touring part of the trip and we met up with "Run for the Wall" in Williams. We rode the rest of the way back to Colorado with them. That part of the trip took us through Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Angle Fire and then home into Colorado. It was really a great trip this year, just shy of 2300 miles. I'm posting a few photos to wet your appetite and hope to have all the photos from the trip posted in our gallery soon.

Gateway Colorado - There's a beautiful canyon there with incredible rock formations. There's a very nice and secluded hotel also with a car museum.

Great pics - gorgeous area - no bike probs - great trip!

Our neighbors are making a loop from Tuscon including Sedona and into Utah and Montana.  Plan to ride Sedona in the next few years - have been there but not on the bike.

Brett,
Sounds like a great trip. I can't wait till I get the time to travel that part of the country on my bike. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for the pics! Makes me wish I had never left CO back in 86, used to do that same ride but on a much older, smaller, leaky scooter (FXE).
