The LED light in the tour pack is not working. Had the dealer look at that Saturday. They said it's "burned out". It's an LED, and as long as they last, about the only way I know to burn one out is to overvolt the thing.

ANyway, they ordered a new seat (because of the ink) and a new light for the TP.

Congratulations on the new ride!

There's nothing like the feeling of getting a new bike except maybe getting a new wife!

The only problem is that feeling wears off in about two years!

I was at the dealer for their Saturday cookout- I was sort of "asked" to be there by the sales staff. I figure somewhere around 400,000 MORE of the Saturday burger feeds and I'll be about even. Nothing like a "free" lunch!

Anyway, I gave the service guys the tour pack light and they came up with "burned out" and ordered one.

No engine mods planned so far. I'm going to see where it's at around 1000 miles and then decide if I really want to do the intake, exhaust and SERT. So far, it just keeps getting better. 250 miles since Friday, and a fair share of that in the rain, AND riding 2 up. It runs way better now than it did when I picked it up. The heat at a traffic light is there for sure, but as soon as things start moving it seems to cool right down- at least no worse than the "01 Ultra I had. But it's not 95+* either.

I am looking a the saddlebag spoilers- just for more light(s) on the back end.

And everyone I've been running with is starting to think the smile is permanent!!   :huepfenjump3:

I just posted in the TOUR PACK light thread Found the switch for the LED- Mine's NOT burned out as the dealer told me- Just had to be smart enough to push the switch- IT's right in the center of the lens.   :bananarock:

One other note on these lights.  If a saddlebag light is ever individually not illuminating don't automatically assume the problem is that individual light.  Power goes first to the tour pak which contains the managing electronics to turn the lights off after several minutes if they accidentally get left on.  A problem at that controller in the tour pak can keep either (or both) of the saddlebag lights from working.

If that's ever a problem there's not any breakdown further than the tour pak light assembly complete.  You'd need the whole thing.  One of our members here (who shall remain nameless) had a saddlebag light not working and just went and bought a replacement before actually checking it out.  He ended up with spare parts.  The schmuck.

Does he still have the parts? Will they work to light up my saddle bags? Can I retro them easily? How much do you think the schmuck may want for them?

The spare parts ended up being one saddlebag light as the tour pak light is available by itself. So not enough pieces to do an installation for you.  The Harley "kit" for these is actually pretty good though.  The lights put out a good amount of illumination and are very handy and easy to use.  54331-04.
