Thanks, but definitely NO THANKS!  Based on my experiences with H-D's attempts to catch up to the rest of the world with relatively simple things like engine management systems, I don't think I want to be a guinea pig / test dummy for those clowns when it comes to "fly by wire" technology.

Absolutely not Jerry.  If Harley actually does this the aftermarket will take approximately 37 seconds to begin offering hardware kits to recable the system.  Then in about 9 months Harley itself will begin bundling together the existing part numbers from prior years to do the same thing and offer it as the "Screamin' Eagle Direct Action Throttle Control System" for $749.99.  $899.99 with braided cables.  $1000.00 with cruise control and braided cables.

Dear Harley,

Old tech, boring idea.  Could use this to use up some of those defective TP sensors, the ones with the little dead spots, however.

Better idea, how about adding some zing to your offerings, like "brake by wire"!!!  Talk about some excitement, that would do the trick.
