A few of us are heading from Memphis down to Destin, Fl for a few days in July and wanted to know if there are any can't miss rides, local pubs or must see's in that area. I know several of you have posted info on PCB and I've heard there is a great ride thru the Conecuh Forest. :nixweiss:
Anyway I would really like any local information anyone can provide for the Florida panhandle area.

I ALWAYS KEEP QUITE ON THESE GET TOGETHERS AND ALWAYS LOSE OUT ON THE FUN TOO, BUT HAVE WANTED TO GET UP IN THE PAN HANDLE AREA AND DO SOME RIDEING. KEEP ME POSTED ON THE DATES IN JULY, I LIKE TO MEET UP WITH YOU UP THERE. ITS  A GOOD DAYS RIDE FROM THE TPA BAY AREA. MAKE SURE YOU BRING MY PAL JR WITH YOU TOO. :2vrolijk_21:

Ditto here.  If I'm free, I'll try to make it down there.

Hey Dave, plans right now are for July 18 heading down and returning Sunday July 22. We will try to get some offshore fishing in as much as the weather allows but knowing some of those days winds will blow, I am gathering up ideas for riding. Went down last Thursday, wind was rough out of the SSE and never got the boat out of the slip, gave up and drove back Tuesday.
Anyway, put those dates down and if you are available, would like to meet up and raise a glass to cvoharley.com

Hey Mark - what sort of fish will you be after ?

I do a little of the old fishing thing myself.

How about this one.

You have to keep us posted on you plans as there are at least 10 of us CVOers from this site here in Memphis and we will treat you to royal visitor status :2vrolijk_21: with all the privileges thereby afforded. We will show you everything from the real Elvis to the best BBQ in the USA. Jerry (ultrafxr), Preston (PHAZE) and John (JR) are the best CVO tour guides east of the Mississippi. We might even talk Brian (103tHunDer) into heading down the big muddy from IL and meet up with us.

Yes sir.  Come on down.

Mark - could meet up with you Friday the 20th or Sat. the 21st from Tallahasse or in PC area if you are headed this way.  The ride over from PC along Hwy. 98 to Mexico Beach/Appalachicola runs along the gulf quite a bit.  No houses in places for a few miles- just ocean.  Let me know when.

HogDude and others gave good locations already for eats/drinks.  Dustys is another friendly bar/rest. in PC Beach.  Boss Oysters in Apalachicola is great.

Nige - would like to meet you on your trip as well.

Dave and others - could be a good sized group of us.  Sharkeys in PC is a good hangout.

We will be coming at least as far across as New Orleans Iski so hopefully we will be able to get our chit together for some riding and partying.

Lookin forward to it already.

Nige - may be able to hook up with you in New Orleans - depends on what day, etc.  When it gets closer will work on that one.

I just happened to stumble back on this, for some reason I wasn't getting any notifications on my email on this topic.
First, Nige from June thru Oct. I try to do all my fishing offshore. That is from about 40 to 90 miles out from Destin, FL, (if fuel prices don't come down, I will be sitting at the dock with crickets and a cane pole) I mostly only fish for billfish (Blue & White Marlin, Sailfish) and other gamefish (wahoo, mahi, tuna and the occasional king ) . I only do bottom fishing when guest are on-board that just want to catch fish. Bottom fishing is too much like work to me.

PHAZE and a few of us are riding down Wednesday, July 18. Hope to fish Thursday - Saturday BUT the weather never co-ops for 3 straight days. If seas are going to be anything over 4', I don't go out. So, we might be riding our bikes any or all of those days. Anyway, anyone that will be in that area those dates, PM and let me know.
