What type tow behind trailer?
« on: June 02, 2007, 09:50:48 PM »

Hey Guys,

I know some of you have tow behind trailers and I was considering getting one.
I was kinda curious what you have, how has it worked for you, and what was your
cost ...if you dont mind. I know some have color matched and thats more. I have been looking on the web and figured you guys would weed out the crap.

If you could post a pic...that would be awesome.

Thanks,
Barry

Hey Barry,

I have a Bushtec and I think it's one of the best made.  I've had it since 2002 and have been very happy with it.  The trailer has Progressive air adjustable suspension on it and you can adjust it for the load you're carrying.

There are several models to choose from, mine is the Roadstar and I like it because it has a retro look.  The trailers are expensive but I think you get what you pay for with the Bushtec.  Check out their website at www.bushtec.com

I am in the process of having mine color matched and I'm including a copy of my trailer that my painter has mocked up with his idea of what he's going to do, it is currently solid black.

Thanks Bob,

I think I remember seeing it at Maggie Valley and thinking
what a great idea. I am thinking this would be a good Christmas
gift to me from me!

Man, now those things are cool............but.............when you're not towing the trailer, do you have a big ugly trailer hitch on the back of your bike?  Or does someone make a receiver that is hidden, and you can slide a hitch into it when you want to tow the trailer.  Don't much think I'd want my pretty melon looking like my one ton Dodge when I aint towing.  :2vrolijk_21:

Oh they have an answer for that too, I'll post a couple of pics of mine without the trailer.  I went to Bushtec for them to install the hitch and they even had the H - D chrome v-rail in stack for the gap filler.

Hmmmmmm.  That's not too bad at all.  Looks really nice actually.  Something else to add to the "I want" list.

Is that one of those trailers that has the load mounted between the hitch and a single cantilever wheel?  If so, those things are way cool and appear to be more conducive to the lean required for turning.  Yes?  No?

Barry,

Mike White has one of the N-Line single wheeled trailers.  It's painted to match his red SEEG.  He's always loved the trailer whenever I've chatted him up about it.  He's not on here much but he'll be in Hot Springs in September.  You'll likely be able to see it then.

Or perhaps that is what I'm talking about.

With that large single unicycle looking wheel hanging out the bike I tend to go back and forth between thinking the N-Line are cool-looking or funny-looking.  They apparently pull remarkably well though and have tons of space inside.  So it works well no matter what else is going on.

Or perhaps that is what I'm talking about.

It's a nice trailer but it does not have enough space to haul stuff, It's like pulling an extra saddle bag.

I also installed the Bushtech Hitch and I pull a Quantim (Model) 27cu ft of storage also equiped with the "air" option so I can inflate the trailer with my key fob when I add and remove stuff to adjust the ride load.

No matter what trailer you have "it will be the best trailer ever made" Don't think so just ask anyone who has a trailer and that is what they will tell you about the MODEL TRAILER they pull :)
