Bag rail guard
« on: December 29, 2004, 05:19:50 AM »

Has anyone mounted the bag rail kit? Does it fit with the filler strips... and do they fit with the detachable tour pack mounting kit?

Best wishes and happy 2005 to everyone....

migs the 2 or 3 rail saddle bag guard will not work with the filler strips that come with the bike you have to buy a notched set from HD or other vendor and have them painted to math the bike.  As far as working with the detachable tour pak there should be no problems.

thx mr magoo I suspected that but I recently saw on the accessories page of the company catalog a photo where the filler strips are mounted on a bike WITH saddlebag rail guards... so u mean that the aftermarket ones could fit and the ones originally mounted on our babies no?

HD makes a set of Chrome & also Paintable fillers that will work with Gaurd rails, but the painted ones that come on the SEEG will not work with the rails. You could make the OE's work with a little die grinder work, but you would have to  repaint when finished. Either repainting the modified OE's or Use the notched chrome ones would be the cheapest route.
