I personally feel that the 2004 SEEG was in fact a Street Glide...more so than the 2005s.  It could still happen...

What about the Street Glide?  :nixweiss:
It's one of the "hottest" baggers around these parts ... why not make it a SE?   :)

Exactly Bill!

Why put on lowers standard on a Street Glide when Harley can sell you some later,,, and make more money.
Why put the passing lamps on a Street Glide when Harley can sell you some later,,, and make more money.
Same applies to the painted inner fairing and the chromed front end.

If the 08 Street Glide Screaming Eagle happens the bling bling that makes them special will be in the wheels and a few other nice different pieces that make them unique to the S/E line!

I think the SEEG is waaaay better than the Street Glides.  I like the passing lamps, the painted inner fairing, the lowers that can be vented or not or removed sometimes, the tourpak that is removeable, I prefer the chrome mirrors and the wheels too.  Just waaaaay more versatile, at least to my way of thinking.
My dealer says the EG was the true dogs bo**ocks.  He did say it was but ugly though.  As for me, I cannot ever say I have seen one.  Glides aren't too popular in the UK although they get my vote :2vrolijk_21:

The Streetglide is what got me looking at Baggers in 05..  Once I added up the accessories I would want on the Streetglide,  I concentrated on looking for a used SEEG2 and that's what I have now.  I bought my then 6 month old SEEG2 with 6700 miles for not much more than a new SGlide the way I would want it and still have a lot better resale bike.

You hit the nail on the head Boatman. If they do a Streetglide CVO it will cut the dealers out of millions of dollars in accessorizing. The Streetglide was introduced as a platform for owners to customize and accessorize. It wouldn't be popular with the dealers if that opportunity to sell chrome went away with a CVO. As far as a SERG, I know quite a few on this forum are looking forward to a CVO in 2008 but anybody whose ride a post 2004 FLHR knows the changes they made in the aero design of the fairing seriously flawed that bike. It's not nearly as stable in windy conditions and the draft that the fairing creates and pushes up into the riders face is very uncomfortable. The earlier pre-2005 fairing was far better than the current design IMHO.

let's not forget that in the 07 model year that the fxsts was removed from the line up and that the mo co made a cvo out of it, so we don't know it any of the removed models will make a come back
