Who is making the kit? Eglide doesn't make anything that I know of, they are a distributors (not that there is anything wrong with that).
Puzzled,
these items from Rivco look pretty close:        http://saturn.dnsprotect.com/%7erivcopro/products/product.php?productid=45&cat=284&page=3
Have you ever had the need to remove your lowers but did not have the correct tools, not to mention the time? We can eliminate that! Our QUICK DETACH LOWERS KIT installs in minutes and then allows you to remove or re-install your lowers in 2 to 3 minutes, NO TOOLS REQUIRED!! Replaces stock mounting hardware with our unique quick detach stainless steel clamping devices which stay with the lowers when removed: leaving your bike looking clean. The kit is compatible with or without glove boxes. Now you can have your lowers on or off in a matter of minutes for those cold mornings or hot days. Fits 2004 and earlier.

Has anybody seen this new exciting product from E Glide Goodies?

http://eglidegoodies.com.hosting.domaindirect.com/id168.html

Skrmn,

I have personally dealt with E-Glide Goodies, and WOULDN'T RECOMMEND them to anybody! :soapbox: I bought their lockable doors for the lowers, and once I got them and realized they opened into the tank, I tried calling them and emailing them to send them back.  All I got was an email stating that they would not do a refund, period.  I tried calling them to talk to them, and they NEVER answered their phone.  I know others on this site have had similar problems with them.  I will admit that their products seem like quality built items, but they are also expensive, and basically you better be sure when you buy, as you then own it, period.  I see on this thread that Revco also offers the same thing.   would highly recommend you not buy from EGlide Goodies.  Also, someone pointed out the theft factor and what would you do with your lowers once you removed them on a trip??? :nixweiss:  Just trying to prevent other members from going through what I did.

if anyone is really interested, i must amend my post above, appearantly the rivco part for detachable lowers is 2004 and before ( and striking similar to the eglide component, so may ask specifically about part as regard bike year manufacture!) and the following is from rivco for 2005 and newer lower detachable fairing:  http://saturn.dnsprotect.com/~rivcopro/products/product.php?productid=437&cat=4&page=1

BTW. I don't think there is any difference between 04 and 05 years.

'04's are non-vented, and '05's are vented. Not sure about mounting hardware, but there are differences in the design of the lowers.

that's all the more reason to make 'em easier to go on and off.....have you decided if you're gonna give these a try, D00d?  I'm wanting someone to jump out there and give us a 'report'.  har!  spyder

I don't remove mines I leave them on year round. I had thought about getting a vented set and getting them painted, but that purchase is not high on the priority list.

Just a note... I put the glove box liners in my 06 the other day like the 07's have. To me it looks like the mount would interfere with the liner on 07's. Not a big deal but thought I'd mention it.

The 07 CUSE has glove box liners like the tour pack and saddlebags on the 06.
PN 58863-06. That part# is for both the left and right. I think they were $30.00. You loose just a fragment of space in the glove box. I got them because I didn't want stuff rattling and I think the stuff wil stay a little dryer.

Cool, stopping the rattle will be nice, I have the liners in the saddlebags, I assume they are similar?? If so one could cut out space for the quick release gizmo's.. :)

Sure. Thats kinda why I said I didn't think it was a big deal. Same material as the tour pak. You could cut a hole with an exacto if you needed to. It's pretty soft and plyable so the head of the retainer might just push it forward and it wouldn't be an issue at all. Except you would need to pull the liners out to remove the lowers. Thats a 1 minute job.
