Gray material n gas tank
« on: June 09, 2007, 11:47:28 AM »

I was filling up the other day and noticed a thin gray film inside the tank that was peeking through the fuel opening. I was able to pull it out with my finger and its a very thin film that breaks apart when you rub it together. What exactly is this....could it cause any problems?

That's the sealant they use on the inside of the gas tank so it won't rust.

You'd have done well to leave it alone

Thanks.....it was a pretty small piece and had come loose....I think it would have ended up in the gas anyway. Next time I'll post first and act later.
