Well folks, I made it! I'm safe on the ground in Manhattan, KS about 20 miles from Fort Riley. Planned it that way so the scooter would have time to reach normal operating temperature before I shut her down each trip during the next four days. Todays ride was uneventful save for the sheer beauty of the Missouri and Kansas countryside. Don gave me some directions for backroads. Started the trip in rain gear. It was sorta spitting rain in Springfield this morning. Got on US 65, headed to I44 and got of at the MO 13 exit. About 25 miles north on MO 13 I came out of the rain gear, but left a jacket on as it was a touch cool. Headed west on US 54. Passed by the Silverline Ranch. HUGE place. Beautiful house. Crossed into Kansas and headed north on US 69...........I love that number

.......ANYWAY......back on track. Went back into rain gear about 30 miles northbound on US 69 (there's that number again), and came out of it just south of Kansas City. Got on I-70 via I435 and headed west. Just past the toll plaza there was one of those service islands with a Conoco and a McDonald's. Stopped, got gas, and called the other members of my team. They were right behind me, so we made the remainder of the trip together.
Work begins in the morning.
I should find out later this week if I'm heading east to Fort Eustis or south to home on Saturday. Whatever happens, I'll keep you posted.
Have a great evening everyone.
Oh, and about the DC, man that girl is a trip..........and just as funny is the Goat Girl! When she did that I just about fell off my bar chair! Dying here

Major beer SPEW! And Don, that joke about the chicken and the nails.....................OK, my gut hurts, and I'm squirtin' tears. Jeez you guys are a BLAST! Scooter I'm so glad you haven't been busted...........yet..............but keep in mind, people talk!

You probably ought to hook Hobo up good.

My bike is trashed out dirty. I'm hungry. Gonna go eat and wash the scoot. Later!
