Motorcycle Storage Stands
« on: June 11, 2007, 09:38:35 AM »

I have a question concerning motorcycle service stands.  What I understand about vehicles that if you are going to support it while the wheels are off the ground for storage that you should support it under the A arms and under the suspension, and not the frame allowing the suspension to droop.

Isn't this how a motorcycle would be stored on a motorcycle stand with the front forks and swingarm un-supported causing them to droop putting excess stress on the forks and shocks?

Does anyone have any suggestions of a good motorcycle jack/storage stand for the SERK?  I have looked at H-D's and the Craftsman so far.

It's not a problem for bikes like it is for cars.

I stored my bikes a few years ago and I used the small roller MC jacks to just take the pressure off of the suspension. I didn't hang the suspension though like I do with my drag car.
