285 to Sante Fe rather than 25 would be a start.

Have done this one before also.  It was beautiful.  Could loop back to ABQ down through Sante Fe again to make it an afternoon ride while there or make it part of the way inbound.

Have taken several alternatives through there when going to visit Beth.  Often decide when I see a tempting sign or something.  Will have to remember what some of the routes were.  There are lots of beautiful short or longer stretches all over that you'll be close to.

If I can find there is (or at least used to be) a website that had lots of northern and central NM riding routes staked out.  If I can find it will post the URL here.

Here's a stretch I remember thinking was very pretty one time.  Lots of things to stop and look at along the way if you want to stop and look.  The entire website looks promising.

Have fun!

Was there monthly in the early 90's

Garduno's Mexican restaurant, the north one:
Garduño's Restaurant
8806 4th Street NW
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Take the tram up Sandia Peak.

Sunset dinner at the County Line BBQ, get a seat by the window.

I use motorcycleroads.com quite a bit. I kind of lay out a general route and then check that site and adjust to whats recommended. But it's hard to beat the advise of the locals!!!

That's funny, I told Scot the same thing in a PM. I hear Jackie has almost a 1000 on the new bike now and has pipes scheduled for the weekend.

Sooner? Is JMACK a Sooner?

Here's another site to check.

http://www.motorcycleroads.us/nm.html

For restaurants, hotels, and entertainment try city search.

For myself,  being a misplaced OKIE, living in New Mexico, I guess your an awl-rite guy being a Longhorn from Yaw'lll country.
Only difference is I got out of  the humidy and am loving the wide open spaces of the Four Corners to ride.
Might as well get a SE, SOONER,  (get it) than later.

If time permits, the "Enchanted Circle" northwest of Santa Fe - Taos, Angel Fire, Eagle nest, & Red River - is a great ride.  Michael's Rest. in Taos and Kawligas in Eagle Nest - great grub.

Well, I'm an Okie too. Born and raised in Duncan OK. But I misplaced myself in Colorado many years ago.
