Glad they got you hooked up Jim. Good luck with it!

I doubt they stamp built engines. Anything is possible, they build them in less than an hour! They have everything is all ready to assemble, and they just put it together. Hopefully more care is taken in putting together a replacement engine so it doesn't happen again to the same person. But who the hell really knows!

Glad to see the MoCo did right by you.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed on my ride.  I have almost 4K on it and haven't had any of the issues, (knock on wood), that a lot of people on here have experienced.  I'm hoping I'm one of the fortunate ones...but that still remains to be seen.  Glad to see you back up and running...now you get to do the break-in all over again.

Thanks Charlie.  Heat - on that rear cylinder - seems to be the source of all evil on these motors; every one (of the early ones) I know that has got very hot has had the rear gasket failure.  How to prevent them getting too hot is the $64,000 question though!  Hope you've got a bulletproof one, but have you ridden it in REALLY hot weather yet?

I've ridden it in stop and stop traffic in 96 degree weather and have ran it at 80+mph in the same conditions.  I've tried to put it through its paces.  I'm keeping a close eye on the rear head gasket as I'm approaching that "magical number" of 4000 miles and should be expecting rear gasket seepage.
