I'm curious how many people really know whats going on the dragstrip these days.
I am so happy that the Suzuki's are not dominating like they once did for so many years but at the expence of Harley-Davidson backing Vance and Hines getting the're vrod pro stock bike not only competative but to dominate with a liquid cooled vrod motor just seems funny. The reason I say that is now we have a new dominator, yes its the buell and NHRA had to add 10 pounds because they own the record quarter mile time in pro-stock bike and they were afraid they would walk away and hide.
Now here's the interesting news for those who don't know. This buell pro-stock bike is powered by a 160 cubic inch S&S v-twin motor. I heard this thing run at Route 66 last weekend and they reminded me of the old days when the v-twins were running top fuel and funny bike. To see them competative again just gets me so pumped that they are running with the Suzukies and the V-rods running second to Matt Hines on his v-rod in the last round at route 66. And get this, you can buy these things unlike the Vance and Hines motor's

What do you guys think about this?

Isn't this just great, Harley-Davidson is funding a project racing a bike that they cant sell and now we have a player that uses a body from a company Harley owns and uses an aftermarket motor that simulates what harley's bread and butter is.
The bike is sponsord by Drag Specialties driven by Chip Ellis with G2 Motorsports. Here's a link to the complete story explaining what the buell bike is all about.
