Bad Paint
« on: January 06, 2005, 06:23:01 PM »

A friend just called and said he found a problem with his new Red CVO.
It seems that when it sits in the hot sun the Gold Leaf on the tank gets a big air bubble under it.Just under the o in Davidson.
The Service MGR tells him since he has had the bike for about 4 weeks now and the problem wasn`t seen on delivery he cant waranty it because its not a bad enough obvious problem.
It seems someone else here had a problem with the gold leaf lettering and got it resolved  but I cant find the post.
Thanks,
Dave

David, here's mobe's "Bad Paint" thread: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=eg_gen;action=display;num=1097251519;start=0  He's the resident expert as far as bad paint is concerned.

I hate HD service departments sometimes.  The parsimonious SOB should first be beat with the tank and then reminded that it's a problem under the paint (so it couldn't have been caused after the fact) and shows up only after an extended period in the hot sun (the dealership likely doesn't have a display sized sun room to bake the bike in so it can be presented under every possible circumstance).  After he's beaten with the tank and reminded that he's presenting himself as an idiot by trying to avoid those obvious facts he should then be told that he's just a wanker.

I'm in a bad mood.

Earlier in the evening I was pretty sure that my hemorhoids had crabs.  That kind of a day.  But I'm feeling much better now  [smiley=7.gif]

Mrs. We, there were unfortunately a lot of chrome problems that are still ongoing for a few.
