I do not think it is uncommon to get EPA approvals 8 weeks before shipping.

Why does that surprise you???

Because they have had to of started gearing up vendors for production already,  what if it's not approved.  We seen these CARB reports before and nothing ever came from them.  HD dosen't make it that easy.

I'm not sold on this info yet but I would hope that HD would know exactly what the result of the test is going to be before submitting it.

I heard another rumor today from my Harley dealer.  Besides the large gas tank and xm radios on all the touring bikes. He said their is a change in the 08 tour packs.

If so then detachability would be gone.  Quick disconnect hydraulics with DOT4 over or inside of painted parts  ??? .

The Moco can't seem to unload the CVO's they have for 2007. Now their going to introduce the same models for 2008. I was hoping for a Roadglide or maybe a Streetglide would have been nice. Who said last year for the Springer??

I can't speak for the rest of  the country, but in my neck of the woods the only CVO models that sell out immediately are the Touring models.  Over the past few years I've seen several dealers wind up carrying over SE Deuce's, Fatboys, and V-Rods, but the only time I've even seen a Touring model on the showroom floor was in the dead of winter.  If this situation is true nationally, and I have reason to believe it is, it makes no sense for the MoCo to not make the RG, EG, and RK all permanent members of the CVO lineup.  Might even want two EG's, an Ultra version and a sportier SEEG version.

Of course, if they continue to inflate the prices at the rate they have lately, I think they will eventually kill the goose that laid the golden egg.  It was very difficult for me personally to justify $30+k for a Harley back in '05.  Two years later the base price is close to $35k (OK, so you get a CB and intercom now, BFD).  Those prices don't include all the mods necessary to make the bike run, ride, and handle as well as the $24k competition.

Same here, Jerry.  No CVO Ultra sits on the floor for more than a day or two, IF it's not already spoken for before arrival.  The other models take a while longer to find their homes.

Springers and Dynas have a tendency to sit on the floor around here, but the baggers get grabbed immediately.  Most of the Kings and Ultras are already spoken for, so they don't sit around.

Same down here in South Texas, the touring bikes go quickly, usually all pre committed but the other CVO bikes are slower to sell.  The VROD CVO bikes were the ones that appeared the slowest to move, I can remember a time when my dealer had '05 and '06 Vrods sitting for a while.  The others were on the show room for sale for a while at least but not near as long as the Vrods were.

The touring models never seem to make it to the showroom floor in our area.  Had to call 22 dealers back in '03 to secure my SEEG.  For the '07 Ultra I approached the dealer the day after they were announced (I knew more about the bike than the sales person thanks to this site), made a deal to get the first one.  Since picking up mine, have never seen another on the floor!  BTW, the normal up-charge over msrp in this area is about $4,000 and had been quoted $6,000 for the '07 Ultra.

After visiting a number of dealers around the country during my travels, I have only seen one 07 on the floor at a dealer in Vermont and as someone here said it was in the dead of winter! :soapbox:

They usually get $1000.00 over MSRP here but you have to get on the waiting list early. Congratulations on your new ride!!!!!!  :2vrolijk_21:
