No more CVO , but Brand new Bagger!
« on: June 19, 2007, 06:16:46 AM »

After seeing no SESG in the 08 lineup, I bit the bullet and traded in my 02 FXDWG3.
I'll be building my own SESG which should end up about like the SEEG .

The 103 stage II /SERT SE slip-ons will be going on next week.

It's going to be fun adding all the new stuff and making it my own .

Oh Nidan,  I am so sorry and so happy for you at the same time. Hard to believe that we've lost one of the rare ones.  Glad that you are willing to tackly a CVO copy on your new bagger.  You've got a ton of information here on the new build. Enjoy.   :coolblue:

Nidan, I'm getting close to needing to do a second bike and dumping the DWG3.

PM me if you would with the trade amount.  Hard to get real world numbers for our bikes.  Mine is black with 850 miles.

Looking forward to your project notes here. :2vrolijk_21:

Sometimes you just have to build it yourself.  I did the same thing after growing tired of the MOCO not building what I wanted in the Road Glide.  I ended up with a bike with just about everything the CVO Ultra of '06 has except the paint.

Congrats on the new FLHX.  That is one awesome machine and the color is just WAY too cool.  Nothing much in this world is prettier than a blue bike save for my lovely bride and a Watermelon SEUC! :2vrolijk_21:  And you get to design and build it to way you want.  You'll have a great time......of that I'm sure. :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks guys , I loved my WG3 , but it was beating me up on long trips , especially in the cold weather.

As HD hasn't made the SESG yet , I do feel a bit like a pioneer .

I plan on the following additions over time -
 Heated Corbin Dual tour seat
color matched inner fairing/cap with spun aluminum gauges (like the SEEG's )
 Color matched chopped tour-pak
 18" wheels (RC, PM, Foose)
Either Brembo (12.6") or PM (13") rotors and matching calipers
Chrome fork covers / Traxxion Dyanamics cartridge front
 Progressive 440's or equivalent shocks

And then a suitable custom paint job ...

Let the OCD begin!! :orange:

Might not be a CVO but still a nice looking motorcycle.  Nidan......just cause you aren't on a CVO anymore, I hope that we don't see you any less on here.  You've been here for quite awhile and I think you should stay.

When you start the mods, be sure and start a thread in the Photo section.

I REALLY was hoping there would be an SESG for 08 , but alas there was none.

After only a few days I now know why all you bagger folks love them , my WG3 was wicked fast , but much less fun to ride over 150 miles, and forget cold weather .

If cost was no object , and I had enough room in the garage, I'd have kept the WG3 too.

I just consider this to be the working prototype for the SESG.
