I'm not so sure about that part.  I won't mind helping and I'll gladly bring a soda or a beer as a helper duty when it's needed.  But I'm really sure the bike will better off if I let someone else handle the wrenches.  So maybe watching someone you know work on them will be the next best thing to riding for me?

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the kind words this evening.  I've done a LOT of reading here this evening.  Didn't  really quite realize how much extra there might be to do until going through some of the information here.  I think a lot of old TwoLane's stuff might have got done while I wasn't looking!  I'm still very excited and will be reading more of what's here as time goes by.  Thank you all for being so kind.

Loose_Goose, I am getting the Vance and Hines Pro, 2 into 1 and race tuner installed. On the first ride I took, I burned my left thigh and keeping my left leg off that cross over pipe at a stop light has me doing some heebeegeebee dance that must look hilarious.

Gofastgirl welcome to the site and congradutions on the new scooter you will indeed love it.  I've never rode on the back of JC bike.  Maybe I should have one of the ladies talk to my wife about a new bike?

2 Years ago my wife decided it was time for her to learn to ride, her decision that I fully supported.  She took the class, passed and got her license.  She wanted the VLX so we bought a new one.  While stopping she has dropped it twice...her confidence a little shaken but just minor scratches to the bike.  Last Spring, she took an intermediate class, basically the Experienced class but on their 125s and 250s.  She did fine so I picked up a 1986 Rebel.  She rode it a few times last year but a new job put constraints on her time.

I enjoy riding two up on trips and such but sometimes I would prefer to let her ride her own bike.  At this point, I don't know if she will ever be comfortable riding let alone getting her on an HD.  I do not know what else I can do.

I could definitely do any kind of a peel and stick part.  That would be right up my alley.  But I will only retrieve beverages if I get to bring one for myself too.  About this washing and waxing the other bike thing though.  That I'm not so sure about.  TwoLane may be my oldest and best friend and all that.  And friends with benefits is good and all.  But he has these interesting wardrobe rules about anything involving the bike.  It's like he believes there should be a law against wearing a bra while on the back of a Harley, and there should be a law against wearing a bra while in range of a garden hose while washing a Harley, and well basically he just believes there should be a law against wearing a bra.  So he may have to wash his own bike.  But what the hell I'll help.
