Mrs. WeCVO is a sales Goddess
« on: January 10, 2005, 03:41:25 PM »

This was too funny not to share.  A dear friend of mine named Beth has been riding for a long time.  But never on heavy weight bikes.  The last two or three years she's been on an 800 Vulcan and seemed to think that's as big as she could ever handle.

She is like 5'3" or 5'4"  Somewhere in there.  And not a big woman at all.  But in the last few months she's been quietly thinking again about wanting a "big bike."  In fact she's come over a few times pretty much just to sit on the red bike.

I always offered it for a ride but never pushed.  If she's not yet confident then she's not yet safe so the last thing I'm going to do is make her feel like she's being pushed.  But you could tell she'd been thinking about.

Then I started noticing Mr and Mrs We's postings.  Also noticed that Mrs We wasn't any longer from stem to stern than Beth was.  So I imposed on her asking if she'd mind sending my friend an email.  Just to talk about what controlling the bike was like and how it felt.

Well.... Mrs We sent this wonderful note this morning.  Got Beth so excited that she read the note twice.  And in between the first and second readings she called a dealership someplace and put down a deposit on a yellow SEEG.  So Mrs. We is a sales Goddess and some bike shop somewhere owes her a commission!

Cool story.  The power of the internet is incredible, isn't it?

Now, don't forget to get Beth signed up on FLHRSEI.ORG so she can get the most out of the SEEG ownership experience! [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Then you're gonna have to help her get the custom made seat........narrowed in the front, maybe move her forward just a little......you know, a short person seat. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Congratulations twolanerider.  No sales goddess, just told Beth what riding a big harley davidson meant to me, and that if you want to do it, you only have to figure out how to make it work.  The seat, the handlebars, the pipes and all that have to be changed to make the bike fit, but once you have the bike up and moving, you are riding an adventure on two wheels. And, I chose the two tone cherry for mine, but the yellow that she chose would have been a close second for me, so I know that she is going to love it.  Looks like the flhtcsei forum is going to have another two SEEGs, no waiting couple in the very near future.

Oh, and if I was truly a sales goddess, I'd of told Beth to start out on an impressive Road King first and pointed to the one I just listed for sale. LOL  LOL.

Well sales goddess or not Mrs We certainly went way above the call of duty to write such an informative and friendly note.  It certainly must have had quite an impact as it made someone rush out and buy a bike.  Maybe she's just more persuasive than she realizes (perhaps Mr. We has a comment or two there?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] ).

Hey, 2lane, I'm a little puzzled by this.  Is Beth a friend or a friend?!?  [smiley=gorgeous.gif] [smiley=kiss2.gif] [smiley=love.gif] [smiley=smitten.gif] [smiley=sweetheart.gif]

Hello everyone.  I'm the girl that was easily influenced by Mrs. WeCVO.  The user here that I'll now know to call TwoLane just showed me this board and we set up my user account.

Just for introduction I'll tell ya that I've been riding something since I was a kid.  Little 50cc stuff than a Honda 90 then dirt bikes then street bikes.  But never been the rider on a big bike.  Lots of passenger time and I always watched and felt everything that was going on.  But I just never quite felt that comfortable getting on a big bike.

I've been riding a Vulcan 800 most recently.  I never felt ready for the bigger Harleys and the Sportsters were just too tall for me and I also thought they were kind of funny looking.  The Vulcan has been a good bike though.  Have ridden it about 40,000 miles in the nearly three years I've had it.  A lot of that has been trailing behind or running in front of Donnie.   I mean TwoLane  [smiley=laugh.gif] .

But now I've gone and done it.  I called four dealerships this afternoon just working my way a little farther from home with each call hoping to find a two tone cherry.  I have never seen the yellow ones in person so was a bit hesitant to go that way.

I found two red Fatboys in my first three calls and was really really tempted.  But road trips mean a girl needs a place to carry shoes and I really really wanted the gorgeous Screamin Eagle Electra Glide.  Then on my fourth call I was told the dealership had one coming that wasn't spoken for yet.  Due in about 6 weeks.  So they took my deposit over the phone.  I took off work this afternoon because I was so excited.

The weird part was the four calls took me a lot farther away than they might have tomorrow.  I didn't realize that most of the Harley stores were closed on Mondays  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  It was really tough finding someone to spend money with.  But now somewhere around the first of March I'll ride on the back of TwoLane's bike for a nice few hundred mile drive and then the next day I'll christen mine on the ride back home!

Yeah, welcome aboard, GoFastGirl (love that handle!!) and congrats on the recent purchase!  [smiley=beerchug.gif]  You've got a lot of good experience on the two-wheelers you've been riding that will benefit you on the SEEG and once ol' 2lane gets 'er fittin' like a glove for you, no doubt you'll be as flipped over your new scoot as (most of) the rest of us are!  Look forward to hearing your first impressions of the new hot rod!

No YOU sound like TwoLane.  A girl may not be safe around here.  Thank you for the happy welcome.
