I'm not sure where to go with this one... [smiley=curtain.gif] will this necessarily involve me, I mean will we both need to be present, or is this a solo act? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Mr We, I'm thinking your duty will come along later in keeping them polished

As far as getting more screwed than you on the '04 with the wheel spacer thing, I dunno, I think it's too close to call.

Sure thing Magoo.  One of the moderators will just need to let me know where the pay per view section of the site is?  [smiley=7.gif]

I don't think so.

Don't be a dick Donnie.

Just for that remark you are going to buy dinner tonight.  I will tell you this later after I've ordered.   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Now hurry up and get out of the shower so I can quit playing on your computer and get some dinner.

So I asked my stealer about changing out the front fork oil today for thicker stuff, as I figured it would be easy with them pulling the radio (left speaker shorting out).

It does sound like your service writer has a cranial rectal discharge problem.  So sorry.  In all seriousness it's just a damned shame that so many of the dealerships can't or won't man their service departments with a competent staff.  It's embarassing for them (if they cared) and it's a pain in the butt for us.

In any case, the heavier fork oil really was a positive change on mine.  I used the SE fork oil.  No, it won't do anything to harm your bike.  And yes, it was a significant and immediately noticable change.  It is a pain in the ass today, however, if you're not already in there and don't have a couple of special tools to make the job a little easier.  Your shop shouldn't be charging you near that much extra if they've already gotten that far in to it.

Try explaining that the forks do not have cartridges like the rest of the baggers(Road king excluded).

The shop shouldn't be charging you anything.....front suspension bottoming out is a warranty issue.  I suspect they should be reminded of that issue in a rather forceful manner.  I think we've all found that many of the HD shops are not only staffed with incredible incompetence, but are greedy little bast....rds' to boot. Wonder if those qualities are taught at ole Harley U.......seems some have PHDs in it

MFG

I suspect that you are right in your assessment of what is taught at Harley U.

I have realized that I am one of the fortunate ones that live very close to "my" Harley shop.
It is 3 miles away and I have built a relationship with the people there and they do seem to value my business.

I just can't imagine how it is for  those of us that have to travel and when they arrive at the shop they have to take a # to be waited on.

I thought with age my patience would get better, but it's not true.
