Custom SEVROD Pic
« on: June 28, 2007, 06:15:40 PM »

This guy had a custom air box (notice the vents on the side of box), powdercoated the engine, bored and stroked (I think it's a 1350), RH 2/1, Sundowner seat covered in Ostrich and other leathers, custom made fender.

Terry,
It looks like it has a custom fuel tank too, of course you'd need it with a 1350.

Did they have it ready for Suz to open on her B-day??

Yeah, when you see pigs flyin', there will be a yellow Vrod in the basement....it ain't RED!!

Nice looking bike though...wouldn't mind having my seat covered in some different leather like that one.

Bike in red with that ostrich seat would be SMOKIN'!  See what you mean about the vents.

My red bike might look good with a charcoal (the bike's paint has charcoal as well) snake skin pattern done this way as well.  Two toned snake, darker on top and a shade lighter on sides.

Charcoal instead of the dark brown insert?  The dark brown would not look good on a red bike, IMHO.

Yes...try and match the shade of the charcoal on my bike for the seating surface itself, with the one shade lighter charcoal/silver for the sides of the seat.

You can see a bit of the charcoal color on this shot...

The charcoal/silver side would look great.  Two tone seats when color matched to the bike colors REALLY set the bike apart.

They want 1K for a Corbin seat on a V...no way.  This Sundowner Seat and Passenger Pillion/backrest is actually very comfortable.  I think the Sundowner must be one of the best seats HD puts out (wonder who makes if for them), as my a$$ has never been hurting on this seat.  So, if I can find the material, I think I'll just have this one covered like I'm talking about.  That's not a big priority right now, but will get done eventually.

I have a Mustang on the RK and so far the stock seat is ok on the SEULTRA.  On HD seats I have sat, the Sundowner is the best.

Good idea on getting it covered at some point.  When its apart it can be rebuilt as needed.  There are some great seat makers out there and most big rallies I see some fine looking skins.

How many miles on your scooter now, Mike?  My seat didn't start really bothering me until I had about 5k on it...seems like it just collapsed on me after that.  Some people have no troubles with it though, hopefully you'll be one of them.

I could stand to be about 1/2 to 1 inch further foward on the V, so when the seat gets covered in rare Indonsian Elephant Foreskin, I may have a little firmer foam put in a couple of places.

Got about 7k on it Terry.  The RK had 500 on it and the classic seat was killing my back so I got the Mustang.

On long trips on both bikes I use an Airhawk.  Keeps my butt cooler and allows a little wiggle room as well.  Suppose it takes out some road bumps - inflated to 1/2" or so when sat on - just enough to cushion.

Wow, Indonesian Elephant Foreskin!   :2vrolijk_21:

You know this already no doubt - make sure the grain of the skin is installed correctly because you would be thrown from the seat otherwise if you rub it the wrong way.  :huepfenjump3:
