Our '98 Road King, and both of our SEEGs can loose the needle to the right. We don't have GPS so no clue what happens when the needle is lost that a way.  I think someone once suggested we all get speedometers that end at 55, then we would all have the fastest bikes around.

None of our bikes have any kind of embellishments to their motors to make them faster/stronger etc.  Pretty much just bone stock. Is it possible your speedometer is not able to move correctly, such as our gas gauges and air temp gauges?

I can't remember the RK's, but the SEEG's speedometers stop at 120.

  Thanks Hoist and all,
It is a Rubber mount btw, Yup no ideal why it goes only to 110 , and no matter which gear ya are in  has to be something holding it back as you say, so The rubber mounts I think I saw ya saw are better for low end torque More pull etc  so will that limit the top end then, Do I need a gearing change etc to get some top end back.. Thanks again...

Cams not sure on their proper name number but believe them to be 550 lift on ex., and In. both...

The stock 110" cam uses the 255 and is 550 lift. With the other stuff you have, and a good tune, bike should easily hit 130. I'd bring it back to whoever did the work. If they tell you nothing is wrong, bring it somewhere else. The PC needs to be set up properly by a good PC tuner on a Dyno. That will reveal what's holding it back. Hoist! 8)

Hey guys,
Just wondering if ya can help me out here,  this bike seems to go to 110 mph. and thats it doesn`t matter if I am in 4,5,6 gear seems thats all it got, Now is there a speed sensor that cuts the revs. out or something,  someone said something about a speed sensor or a rev. limiter in the speedo itself...  this is strange that its as fast as it will go???

any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks alot...

My 110 is good for 130,49 mph  :2vrolijk_21:

Was talking with my tuner yesterday after he finished my scooter.  He tells me the 110 in Stage 1 will not keep pace with a 103 Stage 1.  Couldn't show me anything to quantify the claim tho'.  He also said that between 2004 and 2006 the valve diameters (Intake and Exhaust) were made smaller, which decreases power.  He said had my scooter been a 2004 in its current configuration, he could have pulled 100HP and 100TQ out of it.  What do you guys think?  Truth?  Embellishment? or Bullchit?

I'm sure the last time I looked at one in the dealers the "07" 110 only had 130mph on the clock, My "05" SEEG has 150mph on the clock ( here in the uk) ??? :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:

I'm quite sure that if it's a swing arm rear suspension, Dyna/Rk/UC, it's an "A" motor and if it's a soft tail it's a "B" motor.

The "A" motors have a bit more torque per the specs, 115#/' versus the "B" motor with 105#/' torque.  These numbers are all printed specs and are far from reality.

The "A" motors are rubber mounted in the frames and the "B" motors are bolted solid to the frames and have counterbalance shafts to offset the out of balance on the crank to smooth things out.  GM has run counterbalance shafts for years, starting back in the mid '80s in the 3800 V-6 Buick motors and then later in the 4.3L Chevy V-6.

I hope I stated the Harley stuff correctly.

You guys are all missing the mark by a mile here...    He's got an "A" model 110".   He's got the right cams, exhaust, intake and tune...   His crankcase still has oil in it, and it's not pinging and detonating so it's not REAL lean......

The real problem is the paint.

It's NOT RED!  Therefore, the poor thing has an automatic speed limiting system on it form the factory.

Sounds right to me Dan.  From what I understand, the counterbalancing "weights" account for the difference in torque.  And the Harley numbers are at the crank, but the funny thing is, that after exhaust and mapping, they're actually pretty close to what you'll get at the rear wheel ;D

Just to help confirm the speed limit issue, I got on it this morning.  I was at 120MPH at 4100RPM, and I've set my rev limiter at 6200, so I'm pretty sure it would tap out at about 140 or so, but the speedo only goes to 120 (on the 110 Dyna).

 Hey Guys,
First of all I want to say this site RULES.... and THANKS

I installed the latest 110 map  dated in April this year, from their web site for the mods as close to what I have even though I do have Huge Reinhardt 2 1/4 performance mufflers etc  At least NOW I think I am in the ball park.

Now this has taken out the surging and bad manners and now it will go to red line in 1,2,3, and 4th it goes to about 115 mph around 5200 rpms   thats it won`t climb higher, shift it into 5 th same thing just hangs around the 5200 rpms.  and stays at that 115 to 117 mph  thats all it got..

Better than the 110 from before  and smoother etc etc.. even shifting into 6   just remains the same....

Can someone kind of explain How I can fix the remaining problems, as many of you have said this should go to 130 mph... and I also this it should , Damn I would be happy to see 125 mph for now :-)

Should I add Fuel up top , change the timing,   Plugs are still on the white side ,However NOT as Ghost white as before... But look like it may could use abit more fuel, or perhaps the timing needs to be Retarded or.....

Not A genius by NO means on this stuff.. But I`m all ears...
                                 Thanks again Guys...
                                         Chris
OH  on a side not .... The ecm links up good and so does the monitor button  all green, But I can`t seem to see or get the gauges to show again.. any hints on why this may be?

I think resistance is getting in your way, but, if you check the maps, you might want to richen up the fuel to 12.0 at the 80 degree throttle positions across the board at the 4000 rpm range and up and see what happens.  At that speed, frankly I don't know if you are getting to much air or fuel, but it is a simple experiment, if the richening to 12.0 doesnt work, try 13.5 or so and see what happens. If your laptop is in your pak, and the link wire is plugged in and at the ready, it is a snap to take one of your joyrides and turn it into a monitoring and tweaking session. Oh yeah, this is done while parked, not 'on the fly'.  It's all part of the fun.  And as far as monitoring, back up and make sure that activate guage display is checked on each one you would like, by selecting monitoring from the top menu, and then clicking on the device you want to see, and selecting activate guage display. Once you do that, you can turn them all on, or off, by using the menu bar monitoring on or off feature, and the preselected guages will be there for you.

Thanks Rhino,
I appreciate the reply, when you say "  you might want to richen up the fuel to 12.0 at the 80 degree throttle positions across the board at the 4000 rpm range and up and see what happens.  At that speed, frankly I don't know if you are getting to much air or fuel, but it is a simple experiment, if the richening to 12.0 doesnt work, try 13.5 or so and see what happens."

That all sounds easy but have no ideal what or How to do that, Do I need to go and take 101 course on TMAx, Or is this something you can help a Bro out on??
  Thanks Chris

OH and           And as far as monitoring, back up and make sure that activate gauge display is checked on each one you would like, by selecting monitoring from the top menu, and then clicking on the device you want to see, and selecting activate gauge display. Once you do that, you can turn them all on, or off, by using the menu bar monitoring on or off feature, and the preselected gauges will be there for you.

I check show show gauges but nothing shows up at all even If I hit the Monitor button  but that does turn green as well as the link button does, And If I click on Monitor setup  still nothing shows up?

Hate to ask all these questions, But how does one learn if not, Also IF I hit F1 for help says no  help file No topic exists, Is there not a help file in this software, and I thought also there was a demo   video or something?

Just wonder if I clicked something off by mistake in configure or the tool bars  , so I can`t see the gauges any more try alot to get them back up with no luck?
