Well, the bike is running again....six dealers later and the problem in the rear end was found. It was not the shocks but the support bracket in the rear near the license plate. Super Kudos to Kamloops Harley Davidson!
I called them on Monday Afternoon and had them order a wiring harness to replace the fried one that is under the fender and the did it! I also thought it was the shocks that were bad so they ordered a set...but they were OK. Gotta love a dealer that will take the word of a stranger over the phone and order parts and be prepared to install them on my schedule. I told them I would be at the dealer between 1 and 2. We rolled in at 12:15 and the bike was in for service at 1. Then I got the phone call at 4:15 saying it was ready.
I now have rear lights again!
I know exactly when this happened, South Bend, IN. We hit a vicious bump and then the squealing started.
St. Paul, MN HD: When I had the enging problem, I also mentioned this...they said it was nothing, had the bike 1 hour. ($60 to tell me it was heat management)
Fargo, ND HD: Didn't even look at the bike...never will they!
Jamestown, ND HD: Fixed the MAP and Engine Air temp Sensors, did nothing about the squeal, had the bike 5 hours. ($0)
Billings, MT HD: Fixed the TPS, noted the grooved tire but did nothing about the cause, had the bike 3 days.($135 for tire nut, taillight and misc.)
Bellingham, WA HD: Replaced the tire, noted the frayed harness and suggested I get it fixed down the road, had the bike 7 hours. ($200 for new tire@5K)
A little load has now been taken off my back!
($) Out of pocket expenses
