Henry,
Great pics, that area is so beautiful. The only problem is I want to stop at every lookout.

Thanks for posting,
Ed :pepper:

This pic shows how the Smokey Mountains got their name, and the Blue Ridge for that matter too.

Great pics Henry - especially that last one.  One of my favorite stops on the Cherahala as well.  Envy folks who live near enough to ride it as often as wished.

Will be in Knoxville next month and figuring a route that will put me on it in both directions on different days.  Couple of bad turns on that road - heard there are more wrecks there than on Deals Gap but kinda hard to believe, considering.

Thanks ski.  I'm itchin' to get back out there.  That place is like CRACK to me.  I've been up and down 143/165 a ton and never seen a crash, but I've seen plenty on the TOD.  Just gotta be careful.  I ride like an old fart when I'm on that highway anyway.  It's like Miller........too good to hurry thru.

MrsWe,
AWESOME!!!!!  Beautiful.  I hope sometime that I will be able to enjoy the sights of America....I have enjoyed much of Japan, and now Germany will have to suffice...I know that Europe will be enough to contain me for a while though.

Area is very addictive.  I quite riding dirt bikes and after a trip in the mountains decided riding those twisties is just about as much fun.  I take em slow and easy or fast, depending on my mood and the road conditions and how many rice rockets are whizzing around.

Heard lots about how deadly Cherahala is but have seen many more wrecks on the TOD just like you posted.
