Now that I got that off my chest, I will tell you they did ship my "replacement" clevis (part # 627879 = MIRROR SPITFIRE CLEVIS) and I received it today. I will install their "fix kit" and let you know what side the Manufacturer decided to replace. I hope it is the smooth side forward. Either way, stay tuned: I will post pix ASAP.

OH Yeah,  :2vrolijk_06: to me July 9th.

Happy Birthday Kona! What, did you forget or something? You're 2 days late for your own birthday man! ;D Hope you had a good one! :2vrolijk_21: Hoist! 8)

THANKS YA'ALL. No I didn't forget; I was in Las Vegas, taking the MGM Grand for almost $30,000.00 in jackpots. Do you believe? I have so many tax receipts: I am going to wall paper them someplace.

I hit a single $5 machine twice for $12k and $16k right around my birthday. What a blast. Took home after other gambling and expenses about $23, 000. Banked it. OCD COME AND GET ME !!!

Got to get back and install the clevis or I'll have some problems with a friend down under.

Cheers and thanks!!!

Kona,

That was a nice birthday present you lucky bugger. Whats next? a 200 rear end? (I ordered a Baker DD6 a couple of days ago) & as it is getting really cold here (its never been this cold ever) when I get the Baker it will probably be time to install the 200 rear along with a few other bits & pieces I have been collecting..........

DD6 6 speed direct drive
Chrome inner primary (including 1/2 inch offset spacers)
Auto primary chain adjuster
Chromed FLSEFSE2 rear guard
200mm ME880 tyre on chromed solid machined 6 inch wheel
Chromed wide swing arm
2007 SERK speedo / tacho spun alloy face
48.5mm throttle body
1 1/2 inch 8inch riser T-bars
HD Flush mount gas cap & fuel gauge
4 inch over forks & slider covers
2 inch over front brake hose
Chrome banjo bolts
Chrome front & rear calipers & inserts
Chrome side stand spring
1/2 inch offset spacers to left side forward controls
Chrome primary & trans bolts
Medium low sissy bar (removable)
Medium low smooth pad
Custom tapered sport rack (removable)
DOCKING HARDWARE COVER KIT

& yes get back to the clevis! :soapbox:

Cheers

Back to the final episode of "Leave it to Clevis" brought to you by ....

OK. The install went quickly as imagined. As you look at the clevis (old and new) it is hard to tell them apart. With one exception: THIS TIME IT'S THE CORRECT PART AND IT SHOULD HAVE SHIPPED LIKE THIS ORIGINALLY.

The new clevis is correct, attached easily as expected and looks so much better now. It just befuddles me, what were they thinking? Taildragger Dave thought it might be cost saving and made a few extra bucks by making one machined version. I think it was a clever ploy to fool highend customers with their thinking: "Yes it is correct and what you ordered".

Who can know? Anyway, the shipment came free and on time, no charges at all, just shipped the right part and now it looks so much better...Pix to follow....

So, without further complaints, the correct clevis part for the Left side (sitting on bike facing forward / normal riding position) works and looks great. I would think no one would want the hex bolt facing forward on riding pegs, highway pegs or passenger pegs. Why this has not been corrected by Kuryakyn is far beyond me however I don't like the way this went down as I have stated already. I do like and will give credit to Kuryakyn for making this right and doing so in a expedient manner.

I will not retract anything previously posted as it is in my humble opinion whether I am wrong or not. And trust me, I'm not on this one.

Get your replacement clevis and bitch at them for doing us in such a disrespectful way like we're unable to see this unbalanced, non symmetrical and design or marketed flaw in product quality control for ourselves.

I blowing the whistle on Kuryakyn and they know it was coming, trust that.  :wall:
