Sorry about your troubles. Buying a Harley the first model year and new at that is always a crapshoot. Usually the first sucker (I meant owner!) works out the kinks. I've had Harley's that are bullet proof and others that something is always going bad. They invented the "intermitten problem", you know the one that acts up all the time except when its in the service shop!

 I think they took more time with the red ones to get them right. Few problems... Faster too.

The last red one didn't wanna race me, so I wouldn't know! ::) The last Blue went pretty damn good on the Skyline Drive! ;) My Black one holds its own, but is destined to do more than just that! :o Hoist! 8)

Here is a good one for you...just had my bike picked up from the dealer and am already watching a "little" oil issue.  I will wait until the break in is complete then it may be off to the dealer.  The best part it was Manufactured in Jun 1, 2007...you would have thought they would have fixed the FKN things by then; nearly a year after the production began.  I won't even get a chance to ride it until August but my good buddy is taking care of me with the break in and dealing the dealership.  I hope that it is a gasket...I hope it is just a gasket...I hope it is just a gasket...

Do you know this to be true?  From what I can see, the Red came out first.  all of the magazine articles, owner manuals, etc have the red. (not cause it's prettiest)  The red were first in the dealers around here, followed by blue and then black.  They build them in production runs of XX per color for some weeks then repeat. 
Anyone have any evidence to prove/ disprove?
As far as being faster..... apparently the illusion of red being fast is true as 60% of all vehicles pulled over are red.  Red seems to aggravate people subconciously.

The Blue One's came first followed by Red followed by Black. The older dealer got their Blues ones then next older Blue. We dealer traded a Red one for a Blue one. The Blue one was scheduled for July Delivery but held up, who knows why(can't remember). We had the Blue in hand the Red One our dealer got came 3 weeks later.

 Well from the responces, it seems to me there were no first lots, I found blk/org first, then red, then blue.   i'm guessing they moved different colors around the country.  maybe I was wrong :nixweiss:

I got my ride end of 2005 and have 6000 o :cucumber: :cucumber:n it now the only problem i have seen is a slight seepage of oil around the tranny and crank case. I just wipe it clean when I wsh the bike, it runs like a bat out of h*** and dose not use oil. I guess I should count my blessings after hearing these horror stories.

HeadGasket Leak,  HD tech support is replacing rear cylinder and both head gaskets.  It helps to call customer service to voice concern.
Tranny leak at the VSS Sensor, HD Tech support acknowledges an issue, and believe it or not, the fix is TWO O rings instead of ONE.
