Well may not be a CVO but the rocker and the rocker C are very cool and quit a change for HD.

Big change, and one of the most imaginative things I've seen them do in a while, styling-wise.  I like the seat and rear of the bike.  Not sure I like the lines of the tank, though.  Doesn't seem to flow.

This model is going to inspire a whole new generation of "fits all softtails except ..." ... which is one reason I finally got fed up with my Deuce.

Dang it. More differences noted. Besides the radically different rotors, the rear master cylinder mount looks a lot different. I don't have those two bolts under the floorboard on mine. It's beginning to not look as plug-n-play as I had hoped.

If they are offering it as an "option" on the other touring bikes (non CVO), they are bound to offer some kind of "kit".  If the master cylinders are different, then the ball game might be over for retrofitting at a modest expense.

I'm seeing:

New Calipers $2100 (3)
New Rotors   $750 (minimum)
Sensors and various paraphernalia...Only God and Willie know how much...
Master cylinders (if required)...$500 (minimum)

Where does the $2,100 come from? I can get the front two for $800. I would assume the rear would probably be a bit more than half of that, maybe $500. I just checked, and floating rotors run $129 to $199.

My mistake...$800 for a pair of Chrome Brembo's.  I'm assuming they are referring to a pair of them, not including brake pads.  So that number would be $1200 for calipers, if the rear is also available, which I assume is the case.

I was going by what the chrome floating rotors on my 06 MSRP is....$199 each.  I am confident that a larger in diameter, chrome, floating rotor would be more expensive.

The 08 front master is a different PN and is $349.  Rear chrome cover is specific to 08, but entire MS is not yet a PN listed on-line.

I guess we won't know until we can get our hands on an 08 parts catalog.  Just the physical braking components are going to knock the hell out 2K though, and that's not counting the controls/sensors.  I hope it's available, but it's certainly going to cost a few dollars.  Of course, getting out of just one tight spot would make it all worth it.

.02 cents..

...the new Beull 1125r - looks nice, should be fun, but still a lil short - you can get a 1098 Duc 163hp and 377lbs

...new SE Ultra colors, other than the anniversary model, are a lil cheap looking at first glance, hopefully better in person

...of the SE bikes - I think I like the Springer the best

....The Rocker is a nice fresh bike for HD, kudos, the C model stands for "Convertable" I believe - its 30lbs heavier than the other model - thats one
hefty seat! - at a hefty price - $2000 more than the stock Rocker. ....oh yeah I vote there'll be a 2009 CVO Rocker ;D

.....The Fat Bob ....may help Dyna sales...but the 1200n WILL help sporty's and the Night Rod Special is SWEET!!

...alll in all not a bad job by the MOCO except for the sellout move of a 3rd year of CUSE - not only that but I saw that they are only making 1050 of the 105 year anniversary springers - but then 1800 of the RK's so cash out again.

wish I had that 6 gallon tank the most - looks pretty much the same.

Wow. $350 for a master cylinder? That's steep. I remember when I chromed out my '99, it was $250 for both sides. I'm happy with the chrome version, don't need the gold plated one.

Did you get the MC info from the web site? I didn't see it there.

Looks like I may just have to settle for adding a remote to the saddlebag locks instead. I don't want to drop 44,000 for a brake upgrade.

Yea, Chief...the "regular" MC for front are still around the $250 mark.  Weird thing is the website part is the front MC and says it's "not compatible with hydraulic clutch"...now, WTF has a front MC got to do with a f'in clutch?

Strange thing about it is the additional charge for the ABS on a stock Ultra is only $795, but it does have the Brembo calipers, though they are not the chrome version, nor are the rotors.  There are no rotors listed on the website P&A for my SE Vrod either...same rotors they are using on all 07/08 V's and on the 08 bikes with Brembo calipers (same diameter...mounting is different, depending on wheel type).  The $795 would be a no brainer if buying a new stock bike, at least for me.  That should give some idea of what the controls cost for the system though, 'cause that's all you're really buying to upgrade a stock bike.

Well, Howie found the 11.81" number for the new calipers and if I recall correctly, 11.5" is the pre '08 diameter rotors. Looks like an upgrade to Brembo ABS isn't in the cards. Maybe I'll just have to settle for the hinged lower doors and a remote for the saddle bag latches.  :(

Maybe they've been reading what Don and Terry have said about the Traxxion cartridges and decided to cut them off at the pass. I wonder if it is a tue cartridge, or just the emulators as in the 06's and 07's?
