Thanks for the pics ,  not wild about the new paint on the Ultras.  I think the earlier years were sharper

Great pictures KHD.  As for the Ultras only...........since I'm an Ultra kind of guy..........I did notice some details like the fuel door going flush with the outer edge of the console, which means no more having to open the fuel door to wipe the water out after a wash.  I like where they moved the rider's intercom interface too, cause that means the rider won't have the cord dangling on the tank scuffing it up....and he won't be jamming his fingers on it when cleaning.  I am further impressed by the low production numbers, especially for the 105th.  As previously mentioned, huge kudos for the King Tour Pak and rack.  Still, those scooters just don't do it for me.  The colors.....have gotten successively less exciting since 2006.  As for the red one and the white one, it is likely I wouldn't notice it as a CVO.............but as for the 2006s (especially the melon) and 2 of the 2007s, now those are hard to miss CVOs.

Keeping what I got.  Thanks for the education.   :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for I can tell you that there will only be 5700 CVOs total built for 2008 with 1800 of those being Ultras ....and very very few 105th Anniversary bikes ...each dealer will only get 1 or 2 CVO's in tha Anniv. color[/b]

Thanks for clearing up the stats on the numbers...we were first told that there would be almost that many CVO Ultras and almost half would be in Anniversary paint.  It is good to know that they won't flood the market with them.

I just lifted the following from the Press release on the HD site:
Quote
The Harley-Davidson CVO program creates limited-production, exclusive motorcycles produced by teams of technicians in a special assembly area at the Harley-Davidson plants in York, Pa., and Kansas City. Approximately 4,150 examples of the 2008 Screamin’ Eagle Ultra will be assembled at the York Vehicle Operations facility. The suggested U.S. retail price for the 2008 Screamin’ Eagle Ultra is $34,995 ($35,095 in California). The 105th Anniversary package adds $495.

Who takes harleys pics they just don't do the paint justice.  Those pics don't look like the ones on the web site.  Much better idea of the true colors thanks for posting.

Yea, it's a bummer, but last year the numbers were about the same and people were waiting in line to get one, like me. I waited about 4 months for mine to show up. Doesn't make any sense that they would cut back when they can sell everything they make. Damn capitalists!  :o

Guy's all I can report to you is what they told us ...I talked directly to one of the head CVO engineers and he told me in no uncertian terms that there would ONLY be 1850 CVO Ultras which equals the engine size ...and 1300 each of the other 3 models ....I can't see where this guy would benifit lying to us about this ... you can take it for what its worth ...and the Anniv. Ultra will be EXTREAMLY limited and ALL Anniv bikes will be numbered just like the 95th Anniv, bikes were....

Maybe he was just mistaken (or at least someone in the MoCo is). :nixweiss: Statement below was taken from MoCo website (2008 SCREAMIN’ EAGLE ULTRA ON TOP OF THE TOURING WORLD )....

Hey Bubba,

I believe thats what you were told.  I also believe this is what was printed.  I can't buy but ONE anyway, so the rest of the bikes, no matter how many there are, don't matter except to let me know that I need to get in line early!!!!!

By the way, You have my vote as Harley's new photographer!!  I think your pictures are probably more true to life than the stuff we've been seeing!

Thanks again for your great pics and info feedback.  It's guys like you that make this site so informative and worthwhile!!!

Can't argue that point. But seems odd they would make more HDI's (2350) then US (1800) according to the figure (4150) on their webpage. :confused5:

There is a link started on the site with production numbers, I have no validation if these numbers are correct
Please see this link:
http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=14936.0

I am guessing I would assume the numbers are global  :nixweiss:
