MSRP Dealers?
« on: July 11, 2007, 05:39:07 PM »

Just spoke with the dealer in Sherman, Texas.

He says that most dealers will be getting $3-4000 over MSRP.  He is pricing his at $1500 over so that he can stay competitive.

I think that makes the Anniversary bike $35,500 + 1,500 = $37,000 + TTL before any extras.

Maybe thats because I am a previous customer?

Most of the Dallas area dealers will charge over for the touring CVO's.  American Eagle does it on these, but no other bikes.  Some are more than others.  Sherman is owned by the son of the owner of Texas Harley in Bedford.  Most of the other stores share common ownership as well, i.e. American Eagle and North Texas are the same  (BTW, the two best stores in the DFW area in my opinion.)

Red River Harley Davidson in Wichita Falls, TX is an MSRP dealer.  Always has been.

You can also ask Bubba (KHD) at Four Rivers Harley in Paducah, KY.  He has been known to sell us members here a bike or two at MSRP. ;)

I guess I am lucky in the northeast.  In Groton CT the dealer sells at msrp but charges 750 for freight and setup...at least two dealers in RI sell at msrp flat...I know that there are some others in CT that also sell at MSRP.  Might be worth a trip and then ride it or ship it home for a 3-4K markup.

Paid $500.00 below msrp for the 2006 CUSE in Dec. 2005. Never seen a mark-up at Antelope Valley Harley here in So. Cal. In used bikes now there is a 2004 SEEG Colbalt, 2006 CUSE Crimson, and a Gold/Black SED. 661-948-5959  Woody or Gary

I just paid $35,990. which included freight and stealer prep. They got me for about a grand but stayed at home, we'll see if it was worth the extra thou in acceptable service. It is my 5 Harley and the first I've bought from my local stealer. I will still order all my extras from Chicago HD though.

HD of Dothan is an MSRP dealer..............but.............Dutch isn't the most likable guy in the world.  I know that doesn't make a chit when you're there simply to purchase a scooter, but when you've lived there, it certainly sucks to have some miserable old fart grumble and complain because you take your business elsewhere when he can't perform the mods you need.  His thought process is the customer should return all of his business to his dealership and accept ONLY the mods he is capable of providing.

Whatever Dutch.  I'll buy a bike from you, but your service department SUCKS!

Had a beer or three then got a wild hair and put down a deposit on the first 08 SE Ultra (white / silver) to come in.
Started feeling buyers remorse while still in the stealership. ;D
