Bill,

I had the exact same problem with my other bike. It turned out the wire that goes to from the indicator light to the neutral switch (the indicator light is 'hot' all the time) chafed and grounded out, completing the circuit before the neutral switch. You could unplug the wires on the switch and if it stays on, you've got a pinched/chafed wire somewhere.

Bill,

What Chief said - people have had the neutral switch wire short to ground, causing the light to stay on.  If you added the chrome cover, that would be the first place to look since it's easy to rub a bare spot in the wire on the edge of the cover.

BTW - if I'm looking at that picture correctly, oil pressure looks a little low for 2750 rpm (20 psi)?

I have been watching the pressure also, later it settled around 30 (below the 32) as usual.  BTW, the light went out after about 50 miles and has not erred since.

Getting complicated with gps mp3, cb, bluetooth phone all at the same time. :-X

I thought when using the Aux In the CB can step in...but I don't have headsets on the trip in order to test.
