Noticed the seat Height increased on the 2008 SE Ultra
« on: July 14, 2007, 08:49:50 PM »

The Seat Height was 28.1 on the 2007 SE Ultra, it is 28.7 on the 2008. that's a big change. Ground clearance is the same. I hope this is due to increased padding not due to moving the electronics. Will know when I see in person.

Who knows maybe a typo.  Maybe they changed the shape of the seat with the tank redesign to 6 gallons.  Mine should be in Tuesday but I'll be in Nelson.

Hmmm, wonder if that's the ECM/Top Mounted Battery Posts making the difference. :nixweiss: There would have to be some additional room for these items.

There used to be some room under the battery.

If I am not mistaken isn't that where they put the ABS module?  May account for an increase.

After buying one, your wallet will be a lot thinner.  It should help allow for the higher seat height.

Saw an '08 Ultra today - not CVO - seat shape definatley changed due to new tank, also raised up the seat & there is an electronics module under seat over the battery so it may be the combination of the two.  An interesting side note is the seat (as well as the seat on the '08 street glide) has what appears to be an additional hole like that for the backrest at the low part of the seat - Salesperson & I speculated what the purpose could be and the only thing we could come up with was to allow the rain to drain off of the seat??  Not really sure what that is about neither was the service manager when we asked him.

The same reliable person who told me there would be an '08 Servicar tells me...the purpose is for a seat belt. The state of Virginia will require all pasengers to wear seatbelts while operating/riding on two or more wheels. Therefore, the MOCO has satisfied this requirement by implementing attachments on all '08 SEUC's.
