Hawg Wired, HD-Dude, trip home=priceless!
« on: July 16, 2007, 02:17:51 PM »

I'd been planning to improve the sounds in my SEUC since BEFORE I got it; Jim had offered a lot of good advice and answered a lot of  [dumb] questions from me.  Finally got to make the trip up to Oakland from LA last week; had a great ride up the coast and found Jim the next morning at 8:30.  Proceeded to watch as he uninstalled the amp in the back, set up the tourpack to be removeable  the way it should be from the factory, install the amps & speakers, add a great Billet Boys LED license plate frame, and get me on my way back to LA by 1:00 pm.  Met SanJose Duke who was there for some quick work before leaving to go to Nelson, saw ErnieZap's bike waiting for new tires for the same trip, had a great morning talking and looking at CVOs.
I'd burned a few CDs for the ride home; grew up in the South, and am partial to juke joint rock & roll, so popped one in and discovered what a difference good equipment makes.  Sound is AWESOME, and clear as a bell no matter what speed... even entertains the cars as I go by....
which leads me to the "priceless" only in CA moment from the ride back.
Went down the 101 all the way; 100 miles longer than the 5, but it's along the coast, great moto road and 20 degrees cooler than inland.  North of Santa Barbara, near UCSB, I pass an SUV with a boatload of coeds enjoying the day.  I pull up at about 80, Allman's One Way Out blasting, me smiling, sun shining, it's one of those days that reminds you why you put up with all of the BS in SoCal.  SUV horn honks, I look over and get three sets of the most bodacious TaTas pressed to the glass like six perfect fried eggs.
So: HD CVO: $35K+++, Hawgwired: $???,Allman's Eat A Peach: $18.99, fried eggs: PRICELESS!!

Thanks Jim for the great job on the scoot. This is an unsolicited testimonial for HawgWired and Jim's work.  It was well worth the trip to get it done right. If anyone in SoCal wants to check out the system, let me know... we can go looking for eggs on the 101....!

That's the truth. When I'm able to make my cross country trip I will definitely be scheduling some kind of upgrades at the "House Of Jim's HD Modifications". ;D

Thanks for the testimonial on Jim and it's great to hear how satisfied you are. Glad you got to see the free show on the way home and sounds like a great little trip.
