110 Kit finished on my FXD
« on: July 17, 2007, 07:51:59 AM »

Hi all,

I bought my first Harley in May of this year. I wanted to get the Dyna Screaming Eagle model but didn't have the bucks.
 I ended up buying a 2007 "cheapo Glide" FXD. I was disapointed with the performance and decided to have the dealer install the 110 kit.
 The FXD now feels like a new machine.
The dealer installed Vance and Hines Slip ons and Dyno tuned it.
I was happy with the Torque numbers peak@ 103.4ftlbs, but the horespower seemed down from what I have been seeing on this site HP=89.4
The bike pulls real strong and feels good.  Does anybody have any ideas why I seem 5-10 hp down from the rest of you?
Bike=12.5K + tax
Kit=around 6K with custom fabrication of tach on forks + race tuner + pipes and Dyno runs Parts + labor.
I also had the dealer install the CVO crank bearing for $30 bucks.
It was a blue black color and a differerent part number. Stock bearing was silver.
Dealer said after he did my kit he called Harley and they are now including the bearing with the new 110 kits.
I have to say I love the Forum here and I have learned a lot in a short time from you folks.
Thanks!

 It would be fine for the other members if you present you in the thread "New Member Introduction"
with a pic of your bike  :2vrolijk_21:

Deacon
Beware of other dyno nos. I recently discovered that each dyno reads differently. The operator, the dyno, sae, or std, all make a difference. The differences can be substantial. Unless you compare on the same dyno by same operator you have no real frame of referance.
