OK...now I'm all confused.  The Eagle thing is not my theme on my bike...it's more about picking up the colors and lines for me (like I attempted to do with the selection on the wheels).  I also don't want things on the bike that will stab me or others if I bump into them by accident.  I don't have a flame theme going either.  There's nothing tan or brown on my bike, so that's out of the question.

Any other suggestions, besides the Kury Iso's?

How about these...

Your integration of items in the theme of your bike is always fun to watch, and makes for one "jam up" scoot! john

I just like to make sure that colors at least don't clash.  Some basic complement is all I really look for.  From there if there is any theme to it all it's just a benefit.  Basically just like to make sure things don't look like dog poo when they get added on.

Terry, at least so far as being a comfortable grip is concerned the ISO are nice.  I've used them for a long time.  The only reason I'm even thinking about taking them off is that they'll be off sometime for installation of those elements we've got and these others are just setting here.

Not having any experience with these others, however, figured I'd poll the group knowledge base to see if anyone had used them before.  I don't care how "cool" they look to begin with.  If they're expected to fade or bleed badly or are uncomfortable they're not going on the bike.  Fortunately none of those bad things seem to be within anyone's experience with the product.

Got a set of SAC braided grips on my Heritage Springer.  Nice quality.  IMHO I like them better than the ISO grips that I had before.

Perfect!

Someone who has had both.

Like them "better" how?  (or is it just one of those "feel" things?)

How do the SACS feel?  Do they have a cushion/vibration damping sort of feel to them?  Some of them look sort of "fat"...I have a small hand.  Anyone have an idea if they are fatter than something like the ISO or the stock HD Stealth Grips.

They are fatter than the ISOs and the stealth grips.  You may not like them if you have a small hand.  The leather quality is excellent and does have a cushion effect.  The ISOs would leave a bit of a black residue on my hands when gloveless.  The SACs never have.  I have these on my Heritage Springer and the weave is an excellent match to the seat, but I am keeping the stock grips on my SEEG.  I just like the match.  My buddy has the SAC exotic (snake or something) on his Roadglide.  They look good.

Just comparing this pair here out of the package they seemed a bit larger diameter than the ISO grips.  Not much.  But a little bit.  I've got fair sized mits though so it's not an issue here.  Thanks very much for the rest of the product summary.  Very much appreciated.

One other note Terry, I also asked Mike (who has proved to be an excellent provider of product information) from the company providing the heating elements about the effectiveness of various grips with their heaters.  He's got the ISO grips on his own bike and says they work "very well" with their elements.

He nor anyone working immediately around him have the leather grips.  He checked from customers that have and the report seemed to be equal heating and no real problems there either.

The ISO grips have that solid rubber inner surface.  Probably an even (if slower) medium for heat transfer.  The SACs also look like there is a consistent surface that would contact the bars.  So even heat transfer there too.  Just a guess of course but the worst grips to work with these new heaters would likely be something with more than one type surface or an uneven surface where it contacts the bars.

You read my mind, John!!!  The Ostrich would be my first choice, but in Black to match the seat.  I could go for that big time   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Don,
Was just wondering after reading this thread - Clutch Adjustment??? concerning a member that had put larger diameter grips on his bike, and was having trouble with clutch engagement afterwards because of the diameter of the new grips. I was just wondering have you noticed anything after you installed your SAC grips? Also would you know the difference in diameter between the SAC and stock grips? TIA.

The Kurykayn ISO I had on since the bike was two nights old are larger diameter than the stock pieces.  The SAC grips are a bit larger than the ISOs.  No problems using the clutch with either.  Diameter of the ISO grips is 1.625.  The SAC grips are about 1.80.  Don't have a clue what the stock pieces might have been.

I've also got braid on the levers making them a bit thicker also.  All tha put together is still no problem for clutch or brake usage.
