oil temperature
« on: July 27, 2007, 04:13:49 PM »

What is the average oil temp on a 07 110 SEUC.  Stock pipes with K&N filter and race tuner.  Around 90 in traffic degrees I'm running 242. Is this normal

Your numbers sound about right.  I have kept my SEUC completely stock to date.  I have seen temps as high as 265 on a 90 degree day.  Average day temps seem to stay in the 240's.  Everything I've read says to get the temp down, I'll need to add pipes, air and some type of fuel management system.

I have a TC103, Stage 1 ECM, PCIIIUSB with custom map, SE A/C, V&H Dresser Duals with SE 65115-98B mufflers.  Coming off I-24 today after running 75mph for better than 100 miles my oil temperature was 240.  Was about 95 degrees outside.  Idle RPM went down to 900.  Other than that, the scooter ran great.

Rogermac,  I'm looking for all SEUC²'s in the registry. There's a link in my signature. Thanks.

Hold fire on that.. I have V&H TD, kept the stock mufflers but added V&H fuel pak and stage 1, the temperatures are only in the 60's and I am running in the 240's.  I can only dream of riding in the 90's.

Mine started running hotter after mods and tune. Back to the shop and waiting. 240 first half hour and cool. After temps outside warmed up 85-95+ high 250's to 290's. Yes that is to hot.

Saw that the new toy book has a quick release kit for the lowers.  Local dealer did not have it in stock, so it's on order should receive Thursday or Friday.  Took off the lowers tonight and went for a short ride in 80+ temps.  While it was more air on me it was a lot cooler.  Oil temp when I returned was 236.  I hope this is an indication that removing them will help.

OK, here is my question:  How are you guys checking your temp?  Are you using the high-dollar dip stick?  or something else?

Wondering how reliable the temp. dip stick is?

Just wondering?? :nixweiss:

I am using the HD Digital Dip Stick for the 2007 Touring models, $111.96 at Chicago Harley Davidson. I boiled water to check its accuracy upon receipt, it passed the test.
