New to the site - buying new Road King
« on: January 30, 2005, 10:12:31 AM »

I am new to this site. I currently own a 2002 1100 Honda Shadow Spirit with 34,000 miles. I live in North Alabama. Have been to Bike week in Daytona twice and Sturgis this past August. I have my Shadow up for Sale and plan on buying a 2005 FLHRI Road King as soon as it is sold. I found a dealer that will sale at MSRP. Any advice on buying a new Road King. My plan is to keep it stock until the 2 year warranty expires.

Welcome to the site CharlieZ.  I believe the rarest of all Harleys is one that is bone stock.  Once you get it and look through the big catalog you'll find something for the bike.  Changing parts should not affect your warranty.  Good luck with the new machine.

CharlieZ... first off,  welcome to the site.  Good luck when you buy your 05 RK.  I'm sure you'll get excited tweaking your ride to your likings.  Most mods are only cosmetic and shouldn't void the warranty.  That's what makes each individuals bike so special to each individual.  Enjoy!

I have a 04 RCI that I was going to keep stock for awhile,RIGHT!!!!!!
Once you start looking you will change your mind. I upgraded to 1550 stage II
and my dealer is standing behind the warranty. Good luck with your search.
