Happy birthday Nancy! :2vrolijk_21:

Chip......you da man.  I'm thinkin you're gonna have to blow out the wall on that back garage and add a couple more parking spaces in there. ;D  I'd like to see a picture of that garage with all those bikes in there.

Seeing the picture of your neighbors house brought back memories of our visit to your place last year.......we had a great time.  One of those memories, of course, is mine and your thrity mile trip at 100+ mph to retrieve the camera that I had left sitting under the underpass in the downpour, the night before.

Anyway, I'm happy that it all worked out for you two and the deal came together.

My wife's birthday is August 24th. I had planned on buying her a new car but she was resisting having the payment due to the thing with the land in Maine. My point was irregardless of that she needed a new car. She has no plans to retire any time soon and her office is 25 miles away. Her 03 Spyder had 82k on the odo. Soooooo, I bought her a plane ticket and shipped her off to Maine ( to look at land) last Thursday for a week.

When she gets home tonight, there's a brand new 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT Spyder Convertible sitting in the driveway. Sunset Pearlescent Paint. black leather interior, 260hp V6 with 5-speed sportronic trans, 650 watt Rockford Fosgate 9 speaker (8'sub) 6 disc XM/MP3 stereo with controls on the underside of the steering wheel,  18" rims with Goodyear Eagles, convertible top has a automatic boot, strut tower cross brace, front /rear sway bars, 4 wheel independant suspension, aero package (ground effects and air dams) The list goes on and on. It may be a couple weeks late, but she's gonna love it. And maybe if I'm a good goober I'll get to drive it once in awhile.

That sounds like one heck of a nice, well thought out Birthday Present.  Say Happy B'Day to Linda from all the CVO.com junkies, OK?

 :)

Oh Yeah,  I bet she tells you that you are a good goober.

Hey B,

What a wonderful husband you are! Now, who is going to be stuck making those payments or is it all paid for?

We want pics when you get it.

Man that car sounds nice. I didn't even know that you could get some of the options that you listed. She will definitely love it. So congrats to all. Also, when she sees it you will have a memory that will be with you for a life time. My father had never owned a new luxury car (he had been able to afford a couple of the lower end new cars while I was growing up but never one that was nice). Anyway I was fortunate enough to be able to buy him one before he lost his battle with cancer and I will never forget the experience. The saying that it is more fun to give than to receive is certainly true. I wish both of you the best and many miles of enjoyment with the new car. jj

Way to get 'er done B B.  Sorry I wasn't in communication when you sent the inquiry.

Glad to see you got your deal handled and the surprise is a great way to deliver the new car.

Let us know how it went.

twojay,
My Dad was similar except he bought himself the car in 2000. He died this past June and it only had 12k on the odometer. Mercury Marquis Presidential Edition. Talk about loaded up. My Mom sold the car after my dad's death to a friend's sister for $7k. I'll most likely be riding in it this weekend when I'm in Maine. What is it about cars and the way we tie them in with significant moments and events in our lives ? Anyway, I can't say on a family site how pleased Linda was with the new Mitsu Spyder. Well I could, but folks would blush  :P

Well BB don't stand for Baby Boy, but I fit fine. I mean think about it. Would they build a call called a " Spider " if Spiderman couldn't drive it ?  :D   They're a lot bigger car than they look Dave.  A 3,400 lb car ain't small.

By the way, I'm sittin here stuck in Atlanta instead of already being in Maine. " mechanical problem" was the excuse for no flight from Atlanta to Portland Me. AND  I'm in a hotel on my own nickle.
