What do you use to tune your EFI?

I'd like to know what is the preferred method of getting your EFI tuned to work with exhaust, A/C kits, cams, headwork, etc.

Steve,

I use the SERT with the Daytona Twin Tec WegoII to tune it on all 3 bikes.   I have been playing with the TMAT lately as well.

Doesn't matter what you use. Finding a good tuner is paramount. You'll use the product he tunes best with. The best product in the world doesn't mean crap if you don't find the right expert to tune it! I use a PCIII and have one of the best tuners around for the PCIII. Use what your tuner recommends!

Sert on one, PC111 on other. Both are good. Like the sert a little better.

How can one start a poll on this subject and relegate the PCIII to the others category? It's one of the main tuning devices of the industry. I don't know why it would matter how many people use which tuning device. Of all those people, I would venture to guess that at least half (and probably more) of them aren't tuned correctly anyway, so this info offers very little value except to quantify them. If you're trying to quantify them, list all of them. And there's a lot more products out there than you think.Find a great tuner. Use what he recommends. Period!!! ;) Hoist! 8)

Let's see, 2 guys with great relationships with Zippers, raving about TMAT vs most people with problems, who can't get the time of day from them. Hmmm, I sense some bias here! ::) My bike is now running cool. It gets great mileage. It does not ping. And it runs like a mofo! All that without a TMAT. I guess there are other solutions then to bow down to the Zippers gods! ;) Hoist! 8)

You're right Hoist.  I didn't mean to leave any major category out.  I'm still trying to figure out what everyone's doing.  I'm going to try to modify my poll.  -Retail& Steve

I appreciate the comments to this poll, but either I don't know how to use it, or no one has voted.   :coolblue:-wouldn't be the first time I got confused.  -Retail& Steve

Hey Steve. Have you voted? If so, you'd be viewing the results. If not, you can click "view results" for the tally. If you didn't vote, you'd have to do this each time you visit the thread. I wasn't giving you a hard time for this questiom. Just pointing out that you should find a tuner, then decide with him what to use. And thanks for adding the PCIII. I can vote now too! ;D

I'd like to know what is the preferred method of getting your EFI tuned to work with exhaust, A/C kits, cams, headwork, etc.

SERT, on two bikes.  Tuning the ECM, or getting a tunable replacement, allows for better tuning by controlling more parameters.  As other said, though, better to get a good piggyback-based tune than a crappy ECM tune.  It's harder to find a good SERT tuner, IMO.
