Laker, WOW that would be a bike of bikes. I like the junior CVO thought but an Ultra. I live in Pottstown, I got to sneak into York to check it out. This last round of paint was very cool what could they do to top that and still stay in a production mode of sorts?

Ultra? HMMMMM [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I know these aren't CVO bikes but I assume everyone has seen the 2006 VRSCR "Street Rod" and 15th Anv FLSTFI "Fat Boy", it seems kinda unusual for the motor company to introduce new model year bikes this early doesn't it. I know they've introduced new / special models at Daytona in years past but I don't recall them being next model designated, I guess they are going to introduce new models all year long like the auto manufactures.

I doubt if they do it but I think they would have a big market for it. Maybe instead of making the CVO look good, maybe they will tailor it more for the open road and much more passenger friendly. I know that us with SEEG's can transform our bikes into that but why not feed on what alot of people really want. Besides, I don't think the MOCO is dumb enough to go away from a CVO bagger. The Road Glide has had it's turn, as has the standard EG. Why not pump up the volume a little with an Ultra? I personally wouldn't make the jump, but I bet that many on this site and many who are currently on an Ultra would love to see it come out. As far as a killer paint job and still keeping it in production levels...I am sure they could come up with something that suited the bike and still was inside the production standards they have. Anyway, my .01.

I must not read the right rags. I have not seen the 06 anything. Can you point me to any pictures? If the standard line is starting to come out I wonder whe [smiley=thumbsup.gif]n the CVO will poke it's head out. An Ultra would make my day.

Like she says this has been started on another thread here recently.  My bet is a RG with a 6'r and something larger that the  current displacement on the SEEG this year.  120 sounds good to me.  :)

Do you know if the regulations for Big Dog are different than the ones for the MoCo because of the volume of motorcycles produced?

Yes, the regulations for the small manufacturers (as far as EPA requirements go) is different than for HD.  It has to do with the total number of units built, but don't remember the break off point.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I find this comment interesting from the standpoint that each motor produced is included in the total, yet, Harley produces several that all have to comply.  The Revolution has 2 within the line-up, The twin cam has at least three, (88,95,103) the Evolution 1200 has the sportster covered and then the 883, and the Buell motors.  Are these all included under the same total?

As I remember the article, it was based on the total number of units made by a manufacturer and it seems to me like the number wasn't very high........maybe a thousand units.

If that figure is correct, JC, I am still at a loss here with BIG DOG being able to pass the EPA requirements with the 117 and wondering what H-D has as a problem.  H-D has the computer controlled fuel injection versus the carb on the Big Dog.  The F.I. is easier to control over a broader range of conditions and results in less pollution.  With Big Dog shipping better than a hundred units per week, I think that number would have to be higher for them to get special consideration.  I don't know and have not found this information about the "special consideration" or what that encompasses for being a smaller manufacturer.

Big Dog doesn't produce the amount of units that HD does, or the maximum amount of units allowed and still not be bound by the EPA regulations.
