Replacement tyres?
« on: July 31, 2007, 01:54:19 AM »

:-\ I have now done over 10000km on the origional tyres. The rear is very low on tread, the front is fairly worn on the sides but not much in the centre.
I thought the dunlops were quite good, however I`m wanting to find a set of tyres with a rounder secional profile.
Just to make it a bit easier to lean over. I was even thinking of going to a 21" front wheel, more for the look than any thing else. But then the problem of matching paint on a new fender is a problem.

Any comments appreciated.

Speedy.

Speedy...take a look at the Metzler 880 Marathon tires...much rounder profile, excellent rain performance, very good wear characterisitcs.  Much easier to fall into a curve than the Dunflops, IMO.

I have heard the Avons are good as well, but wear a bit faster.

Yea, I like the metzeler 880's I have them on my RK. Ride nice, you got 10,000 on your old tires?? I had just over 8000 on my rear Dunlop and it had less than a 1/8" of tread left!

I love the Metzler 880 I put on the rear of mine a month or so ago.
