High Flow Air Cleaner
« on: February 02, 2005, 02:44:20 PM »

I'm new to this board and have a question about changing the air cleaner on my '03 FLHRSEI2. I'm want to go with a D&M Spike type model #TS-7900-BCHA: [url]http://www.dmcustomcycle.com/AIRCLEANER/ts-7900-bcha.JPG

Has anyone done this to they're bike? I have an EFI carb and I'm not sure witch breather
support brackets to get? D&M suggests part #JT-02112 but that is just the adapter bracket. Any thoughts appreciated!

Welcome to the board Gr8Escape.
Couple of things you may want to consider.
If your bike has the high flow (K&N) air filter on the bike now or if you have the stock filter now, you will undoubtedly be changing you air/fuel ratio.  When this happens you must address this by reflashing your ECM, adding a race fueler, adding a race tuner oradding the Power Commander.  Once that is accomplished you will or your mechanic will be able to get your bike close to tuned up.. Additionally, your Electronic Fuel Injection is affected by your exhaust system.
Although you probably are a fair weather rider, we all get caught in the rain and I think that this filter is very stylish yet is terrible for rainy conditions.  If you are concerned about getting better flow in the intake side, get your throttle body flowed at a place like BC Gerolomy.  You have a good motor and show bike bolt ons don't seem to do much for the performance from a practical standpoint.
