Smoked LED Turn Signals
« on: February 08, 2005, 01:15:37 PM »

I am thinking of ordering the Smoked Front/Rear LED Turn Signal Conversion and the Smoked LED Tailight from Kuryakyn. I have seen some bikes with the amber front turn signals but none with the smoked. Anyone have a pic/input? Thanks.

Thanks WFP. The only thing I don't like is the little space between the chrome where the light shines through. Do you feel they are an "upgrade" from stock or just a little different look? Thanks again  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I actually like the gap, the light shines through...that way from the side there is  (at least some) additional visibility.  With the stock bulb it sticks out a little and provides this peripheral visibility.

Personally, yes, I do find them to be an upgrade...and I haven't had another blown bulb

Put on the rear and front turn signals as well as the brake light today. I have to say that it looks great. Besides having to remove the fairing to install the load equilizer for the front signals, it was an easy install. Thanks for the input WFP. My scooter owes you!  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I have the full Panacea System, rear Turns, Front Turns and the Tailamp.  My load Equalizers are located in Parallel along the frame under the seat on the left side.  Left of the battery.

the parts I have are:

Front LED turn signals, Kuryakyn part #4825
Smoked laydown Panacea tailight , kuryakyn part #4833
Rear Deuce Style Smoked Inserts, Kuryakyn Part # 4949.

They sell a load equalizer (p/n4857) for alarm equipped bikes but installing the supplied ones in parallel as I did has proven to work fine.

Same here, under the seat. You only needed the one unless it was different because of the Panacea tail light. I just used the deluxe tail light without the built in turns. I was confused also when each set of lights came with an equalizer and the run, stop, flashing brake module came with it own also. I only installed the one under the seat and put the other two away for future use. So far mine has worked great. I like the turn signals being extra brake lights and all three flashing three times before coming on solid when you hit the brakes. Everyone that rides behind me says it really gets their attention.

I did have to use the two pictured but I only had the small one originally and maybe could have just used the larger one.  Then again, I put my heat gun to work and justified that purchase to my wife!

I have the full Panacea setup in smoke and love the looks of it.  No blown bulbs, but i do have the fast turn signal problem.  I have both ballasts installed.  Turn signals will flash at the normal rate for about 4 flashes then go very fast.  Not sure what is the cure .. just living with it for now.

i had to tighten them with pliers before the blinking would stop. I then secured them with zip ties so they would rattle loose.

A buddy has a 2003 SERK with the kuryakn brake and rear turn signal setup.  His engine light stays on and was told it was due to the non stock lighting.
