Anyone know if you can order a set of the Ultra hard bags in copper and black for the Road King??

you will have to find a dealer that is willing to use the serial number off someones seultra to get them for you. (if indeed it can be done)

 or just order primed bags and get them painted.

Buy some used and have them painted...A good shop can match paint.

Still no word from the dealer as to wether a SERK VIN would be good enough to convice HD to order the Ultra Bags for me even though the VIN is from a SERK

One thing for sure is the copper and black bags from the Ultra fit and look perfect on the copper and black SERK

You could guess 1k or so plus the bags, latches and whatever else.  I had to have them, the leather lokked bad a the function was worse.

Thanks...they hold lots more with the lid liner in there. The painter did a great job.

How did you decide on a painter.

I am having difficulty finding someone who is interested in trying to match the new Copper and Black.

Still can not believe HD won't sell me the bags from the ULTRA

I can, once they have your money, you are toast...There are a bunch of us suckers out there...

I got the word from the group I ride with.

I would be very, very surprised if they do this...not trying to rain on your parade, but they are very restrictive about the CVO parts.  If you know someone, or if the dealer used a SEUC VIN, you'd be good to go, unless the MOCO wanted the "old" bags returned.  They might allow the owner of an SEUC to purchase an "extra" set.

You are correct.

It does not look promising.

Looks like the only option is to have a set painted like recommended by others.
