HELLO  ALL ; HOW  LONG HAS IT BEEN TAKING  TO GET NEW PAINTED TINS AND ABS PARTS AFTER  OUR BIKES GET DAMAGED ?

 HAS ANYONE BEEN IN THIS SITUATION !!!

 I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT THIS PAST WEEKEND 8-19-07 12:40 CST ..  I HIT A DEER AT 50 MPH  , STRAIGHT ON - HEADLITE INTO THE DEER RIBCAGE..  I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE BIKE FLIPPED 3 TIMES AFTER ME AND MY PASSENGER WAS EJECTED....  THE GOOD THING IS THAT WE HAVE BOTH LIVED WITH "" NO HELMETS ON ""

Give thanks to the MAN upstairs......Thank our good Lord that you are you passenger did not get hurt.

Now as for you tins you we'll probably see them fairly quick as your insurance co will be writing the check.  You know Money talks....Just start adding them zero's

 man i  wish  something  was  different because  this  road rash is a  pain ,  any movement just  breaks the scabs open and bleeds again..
  the  ins. adjuster is coming 8-22 in the AM  maybe this will get the ball rolling ...

Thank the man up stairs you where very lucky with no helmets.  Painted parts are usually 8-12 weeks harley says sometimes faster.  The problem you will encounter is finding the part #'s for the painted parts.  I got my bike a month ago and they still don't have part#'s for the paint that is bad.

Glad you all made it without the skid lids.  I imagine you have seen a doc, but if not you may try "bag balm" on the road rash. 

I have used it for years after my boss' wife had a bad burn on her face and the plactic surgeon recommended it to her for faster and better healing.

If it's any consolation, after our mishap in Canada, Cindy's road rash healed up in a couple of weeks but I'm just now getting over my twisted knee and that has been over a month.

Speedy recovery and good luck with that adjuster.

I would think that hitting a deer broadside at 50mph and flipping the bike 3 times would have caused enough damage to bike for the insurance company to have totaled it. Who is your insurance company? Foremost will replace your bike with a new current year model one if it is totaled within 2 years of being insured as a new bike. If the damage is extensive, I think I might be haggling with my ins. co for a new bike.

hello;  i  have  DAIRYLAND  INS A DIV OF SENTRY INS , AND  YES THE INS ADJUSTER CAME THIS MORING , AND WE SENT THE BIKE TO A LOCAL H.D. STEALER .  i do not know what it has come out to , but i am already very pissed off at the insurance co. and  yes have been thinking about getting an att.   ...there is like no injuries and they are already saying that they would not cover helmets that were in the tourpak , our HARLEY CLOTHES  that were damaged , chaps , cellphone , hd blue jeans and  hd steel toe boots...  that me and my passenger had on....   and i have 10 k accessory & apparel coverage ... I WILL SURELY KEEP "" FOREMOST INS ""  IN MIND ....

HELLO  ;  the  damaged parts that i have  found  are ; front fender , inner - outter fairing , cow bells ,1 lower fork leg , lower fairings , hand levers , hand grips , gas tank,
  side covers , tourpak , pass backrest , saddlebags , engine guard , saddlebag guards , saddlebag guard bags , tour pak mount , handle bars , rider floor boards , hydro clutch cyl , exhaust system w/ mufflers , windshield  & molding , POSSIBLE TRANS  IT WAS JAMMED IN GEAR ,  hiway  pegs , spot lites , head lite , turn signals , BUT THE  REAR FENDER IS GOOD !!!

  THE TAB ON THE FRAME THAT HOLDS THE FRONT ENGINE GUARD COULD BE TORE !!
 THAT COULD DO IT IN ! ! !

If you have 10k accessory and apparel coverage, I'm not understanding how the adjuster could tell you this stuff isn't covered.  You may want to make a call or two and go over his head.  First call would be to your agent, the guy who gets the commission checks.  Then the next call would go to the claims department manager.

It's been my experience that some insurance adjusters will try to treat you as if the money is coming directly out of their own pocket.  I don't know if that is some misguided sense of loyalty to their employer, or maybe they get a bonus for keeping costs down.  Whatever the reason, you may find yourself being fed obvious BS.  When it was done to my wife and me on a claim a few years back, we made some calls and dragged the adjuster's boss out for a face-to-face.  Within 5 minutes the boss agreed with us and approved the repairs.  Unfortunately, it rarely goes as smoothly as shown on those insurance company ads on TV.  Stick to your guns, elevate your claim to higher levels if necessary, and if all else fails contact your state insurance regulatory agency and your favorite attorney.

When my '06 melon was totaled Foremost gave me enough to buy my new '07 jester - no questions.  They were extremely easy to deal with, very professional, and paid for my damaged riding gear (did depreciate it however).

hello  all  again ; i  am taking  all this  in  and  i  am  a  hot  head  threw the  years but getting  mild as the  years go on .. in over 25  years i have  had 2 mishaps , this  one  which is pretty bad but no injuries , and another mild one  that was a drop on gravel at 10 mph.. WHAT WOULD THEY DO IF THERE WAS A DEATH OR VEG  CASE...
