Which CVO bike do you have on order?
« on: August 25, 2007, 10:04:24 PM »

Please tell us 4 things:

1. Which CVO bike you have on order

2. Color combo

3. When you think your dealer will deliver.

4. Your concern over the 110" issues on a 1-10 scale, 1 = not worried at all and a 10 = I am considering cancelling my order

Thanks!

Please tell us 4 things:

1. Which CVO bike you have on order
SERK

2. Color combo
Anniversary

3. When you think your dealer will deliver.
November, but no VIN or exact date yet

4. Your concern over the 110" issues on a 1-10 scale, 1 = not worried at all and a 10 = I am considering cancelling my order

Thanks!

This is what I have ordered.  I have the V&H Dresser Duals with the V&H Oval Slipon's already waiting for the new SERK.  I've also ordered the new Reptile Tour Pack with all the necessary docking hardware.

The 110" motor does have me slightly concerned, but I'm truly hoping that they have all the "new" gaskets installed.

One thing I just noticed was the amount of noise in the stock driveline of the 96" 6 spd Electralglide Classic.  I just spent two weeks on the big island, Hawaii, and rented a the Electraglide for two days.  The 5th gear noise was really loud and the rattle at slightly lower rpms was enough my wife was complaining on the back.

In fact all the gears rattled really bad when the rpms dropped too low.  I'm sure that the compensated rear wheel will be a big help to silent the noise a bit.

I did find the power of the 96" to be quite nice compared to my old '76 FLH 74" bike.  So I'm really looking forward to the new SERK with the larger 110" motor.

I'm not sure if this is the thread to bring this up, but the reason I rented the Electraglide was to get an idea of just how my new SERK was going to handle.  I found that the Electraglide was a lot more top heavy than my '76 FLH.  I attribute that to the fairing as well as the large rear tour pack.  I'm sure the RK handles a bit differently with a slightly lower center of gravity.

On my old FLH the steering head is behind the forks which probably attributes to the feeling of the front wheel wanting to fall over to the side as parking lot speeds.  I'm not sure when MOCO changed their touring bikes to a trailing fork tubes with the steering head forward.  When I first rode a new RK from the MOCO demo trailer this summer, the first thing I noticed was the almost power steering feeling of the frontend of the bike.  It was very different than my old FLH and was something I felt I could really get used to.

It's funning though that the demo bike had none of the 5th gear rattle/whine that I heard on the rental bike with 15k miles on it.

So, is this power steering feeling why they changed out the touring bikes to the forward steering head?  I noticed that my buddy's '03 SEDuece has the rear head like my old FLH and all the other Dyna's, Sportster's etc have the rear heads as well.

Can someone fill me in with the thought behind the geometry change?

Thanks.

None............they just haven't had the "WOW" factor that the SEEGs have......nor the versatility.

NONE.  Let me know when they decide to produce something with competitive quality, reliability, and performance.  Until then, I've already got enough headaches, thank you very much.

I have to admit, my fears over the 110" issues had me looking at a Goldwing this morning.

The 5 dogs on the right are Old English Mastiffs, there is Mom and Dad, and we kept three of the male babies.  The "baby" is 17 months now and weighs 200lbs!  The girl on the far upper right was lost to cancer in March 07.  These are the gentle Mastiff breed, although you wouldn't want to piss one of them off... :o

CUSE, CanCop/StarSil, DEC/Jan (but I'd be cool if it were closer to spring), 2
That's right, a 2!  And the reason I'm not at 1 is that I'm quite confident something WILL go wrong in it's life.  If not the engine, it'll be something else.  It's a Harley.

Until I hear the Mo Co has a fix for the gasket problem, I'll be worried.  If they don't I may go with the 113" and Baker tranny fix.  Timken bearing fix.  God knows what other fixes.  Then I'm gonna fix myself of CVO OCD and keep the damn thing 'til the second comming.   :bananarock:  -Retail& Steve

The production date is scheduled for 9/14, I was told by the dealer to add approximately 10 days for delivery and set up.

Steve G - I like your color choice!  Mine is supposedly arriving around the same time, but when I get the call, I'll believe it.  In the meantime, everyone waiting that is concerned over the 110" issue, please see this thread:
