Has anybody tried putting the 08 serk handlebar on a 07 serk?
« on: August 28, 2007, 06:24:51 PM »

I was looking at the Harley catalog and noticed that the 08 serk handle bar has more pull back then the 07. But it says this bar will only fit 08 and up. I need to get the handlebars closer to me for my short arms and would like to stay with factory stuff. Please let me know if anybody has any info on this...thanks!

The most likely difference is the right side grip area, to accommodate the drive-by-wire throttle system.  Haven't seen any details yet on what those changes actually are, or whether you could retrofit a cable throttle system on the new bars.  A straight retrofit is doubtful, since the catalog shows '08 only, but that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be done with the application of a little ingenuity.  There's another similar thread you may want to look at.
