Well you can now remove me from the "no leak" category of happy hd owners. Rear head gasket leak at 7469 miles on 07 SERK. Dealership installing new gasket today and when I get the inevitable "second" leak it will be time for some serious mods. I personally blame Chief for my problem as I did not have a leak until my bike spent the night with his in that OSHA sanctioned house with the furry creatures.  ;D

Welcome to the club.

You're just sore that you didn't get the "Piglet Early Morning Wakeup Call" that 2Lane got.  :D

I didn't get story first-hand, but as it was told to me, sometime very early in the morning, 2Lane awoke to find a furry gray cat standing on his chest and staring into his face as if to say "Why don't you get up and give me food strange man?"

When he shows up today, maybe he can supply the details in the way only he can.  ;D

I've got 5,030 miles with no leaks. I have not had any real problems, twice the neck bearing has been retorqued. Keeping my fingers crossed! Best of luck gentlemen!

Tomba,

Rhino had a similiar experience with his bike,  although on his he could see leaking on the rear when he went in to the dealer.   After they replaced both cylinders and put it back together, he said it had a lot more power than it had before he brought it in.   Have you checked your plugs lately to see what they look like.   Wondering if you might be burning some of that oil in the combustion area?   He swears that the guy who put it back together did it right and he should not have any further problems with the leaking and the new gasket and new juggs, but my bet is that is shows itself again only because I had mine replaced and it leaked again after that.

Just hit four thousand miles on my 2008 110 with no problems YET! It has had Royal Purple in the engine and Bel-Ray 85w140  :'( (Because the HD shop was out of RP 85w140) :'( in the tranny since break-in. The Royal Purple cooled her down over the SY3 by between 25 and 30 degrees. This temp is on the digital dipstick. Just in case anybody wonders I've been using Royal Purple for quite a few years and have two evos over the 100,000 mile mark with never a oil related problem and compression on both is within new specs. Both these bikes also have RP 85w140 in the trannys and again no problems of any kind.

Gregg, it's cool that your H-D dealer would even consider putting anything but Harley oil in your bike for you . . . . most won't. :-\

Also, nice testimony to the Royal Purple products with your experience in the 2 Evos. :2vrolijk_21:

I will be adding to these 110 threads when the time is right. Way too many issues to even warrant this discussion. They need to be called to task on this before we get killed on these things! >:(

Here we go..

New rear gasket leakage at 26000 miles -- this will be the third replacement (last one at 22k).

Does Harry still have the record for replacements at four?

Will can an open up a new problem...
