Can you get the bulletin number so we can track it down?

:indian_chief:

I'll see what I can do, but I suspect it may be the same one already posted on this site in another thread. It will be a couple of days before I can do anything though because I work out of town.

I'm also wondering if the crank runout problem is one that comes that way from the factory, or if it develops over time as the bike is ridden?

I can answer that. Just got back from the dealer with my buddy. They pulled his primary to measure his. It was at the (revised) spec limit with 1500 miles on his 08 SEUC. The shop was able to convince the moco to allow them to fix it rather than send a new motor.

This is the same mechanic that just finished rebuilding my motor. So far, mine runs like a champ. He redid my dyno too. Dyno'd at 108 HP and 115 TQ. When he did the work, I had him replace the front compensating sprocket with a non compensating 30 tooth one.

Can you please explain why?  Is it a HD part?

Thanks

What does the mechanic think he can do to fix the 08 motor runout issue?  That will keep it from happening again?

The reason to switch to the 30 tooth sprocket is to bring up the rpms. Now, in 6th gear, I'm turning about 3k rpms at 74mph. It also helps on the low gear as the bike is geared a bit high in first. The sprocket is not a harley part. It was actually designed by the mechanic that worked on my bike but is sold to other shops as well. Getting rid of the compensator makes the bike start very nice. No more clunk when starting. Without it, you must not lug the engine though.

Fixing the runout is easy. He will just true the crank shaft and weld it. The factory does not true them any longer hence the problem. He will easily true it to under a mil.

I'm not sure it matters since I can't keep a thought for more than a few minutes.  :P

That's probably why I like to ride so much.... scenery changes a lot!  ;D

I always thought the same.  Don't forget the "C" in CVO standards for Custom, it definetely doesn't stand for Customer .  Or stand behind the customer, ha! :orange:

Worrying thread this....  :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

2500 miles on original motor, which regular readers will recall had a split in the crankcase from day 1, replaced when it dropped a valve guide.
1200 miles on new motor, so far so good >fingers crossed< - in around 6000 miles, a friend's CUSE2 has had the head gaskets replaced thrice, base gasket on the rear twice, and bike is now awaiting replacement barrels, pistons, and rear head.....

I had major pinging problems on the original motor, but the replacement seems to be free of them; oil pressure is lower on the replacement motor too, for some reason, at around 32 most of the time.

Just had second friend with 07 SE's that have already had rear jug and gaskets replaced for a second time, had the ACR go out this week on both and cause additional problems. Evidently the HD 110 ACR valves are another problem that MoCo is trying to ignore on the 110. :nixweiss:
Not pretending to possess any knowledge whatsoever about anything mechanical, I am just tickled as hell I got my deposit back on the 08 SEUC. :2vrolijk_21:

There's always that orange one we saw at Bumpus yesterday. I understand it's looking for a new home.  ;D

Oil leak on rear head started at about 7000 miles, had both cylinders, gaskets, pistons, and rings replaced at 9000 miles. Now have just over 10000 miles no leaks so far
