5500 miles: Leaky Rear Head Gasket, and Rocker Boxes needed clearancing. Redid entire top end. 2000 miles on that now, and so far, so good! My repair though, can not be used to determine whether HD's fixes work. We went just a tad deeper! ::)

Well, I spoke too soon, 75 miles after that post, the bottom end let loose. Motor's blown. Dealer's checking it out tomorrow, but he knows I know my bike and told me he'll set the wheels in motion for a new motor. Yeap, life in hell with these 110's continues! >:( >:( >:(

Sorry to hear that. I got mine back Saturday. Second top end rebuild. I also had the front motor sprocket changed, and gear drive cams put in and a new dyno. Bike seems to be running pretty good. Time will tell on the oil problem. I will say the motor is much quieter than before.. not that it was bad before. About the only noise I hear now is out the exhaust.

9500 miles...completely stock bike
At the dealer now waiting for parts
Replacing Both head gaskets
Replacing both cylinders, both pistons, rings, and valve seals
Motor had head gasket leaks, excessive oil consumption, very badly carboned up front cylinder
and pinged (detonation) very badly

Just got my bike back from dealer yesterday. It has about 100 miles on it and i'm leaving for Hot Springs in a few hours. So far so good with the motor work. No pinging. No interference with valve spring/rocker box. In addition to the parts replaced that I mentioned above, they also discovered that the rear cylinder Compression relief valve was not working and replaced it.

Sorry to hear of your problems. Hopefully your Dealer, along with your call to the Motor Company can have a new motor shipped overnight. The motor I received was reported to the Motor Company on 09/04/07 at 9 AM and the Dealer received the new motor from the Motor Company 09/07/07 with my original VIN stamped, I picked up the bike first thing 09/08/07 at 9 AM.

Good Luck

Damn Howie!!   Sorry to hear that bro. :-\  Just when you thought you have everything where you wanted it.  Good luck on the new mill.  Glad to hear the dealer is going to honor the warranty and get you a new one.   ;)

6500 miles noticed oil leak at rear cylinder head while coming back from Yellowstone
7500 miles dealer replaced both head gaskets with 07A versions
7750 miles weeping at base of both cylinders and leak at rear cylinder head
8000 miles dealer replaced both cylinders, rings, and gaskets
8250 miles weeping at base of both cylinders

At the 8000 mile w...ty work my dealer refused to check crank runout even though I said I would pay for it.  >:( Bike has a noticable vibration in the engine.

Spousal unit demanded that I take the bike to another dealer... Have an appointment for the end of September at a dealer a few hundred miles away. They plan to check the runout, replace gaskets, and re-dyno the bike to see if they can cure the engine vibration and fix the ever present oil leaks. I'm wondering why the gaskets continue to leak even when the cylinders have been replaced -I thought that was supposed to be the "magic" fix!  :'(

The bike has about 9000 miles now and I expect to put on another 1000 miles or so before taking it to the "other" dealer. I hope it holds together that long...

Just got a call from the local dealer's SM saying that Harley has a bulletin out on the vibration and to give them a call so they can check it out for me... Funny that they wouldn't even acknowledge the vibration and refused to check runout until the Mother ship put out a bulletin.  >:(

Can you get the bulletin number so we can track it down?

Just had second friend with 07 SE's that have already had rear jug and gaskets replaced for a second time, had the ACR go out this week on both and cause additional problems. Evidently the HD 110 ACR valves are another problem that MoCo is trying to ignore on the 110. :nixweiss:

I'm Looking at my second motor in my 2007 FLHTCUSE2 not to mention the oil leak @ base gasket on rear jug for the second time.  Lost first motor at 2200 miles & now the second motor has about 5200 & there replacing it vale train noise, excessive oil use now at front cyclinder can't stop rear jug from leaking at base.  A fine pile of scap metal for the price.  Getting real bummed about this bike, It's not worthy of taking a long trip I don't feel.  My 2004 Road King will out do this bike any day or time & bring me home.  I beleive the 3rd motor is one that has been redesigned, Don't know I won't get my hopes up!!!!

THey will be using wing nuts to reassemble it.  That sucks.  What makes you think the third is improved?

I am working on a database driven 110" engine tracking site that we should be able to more accurately track these issues and document them.  I will be posting it in the next week or so.

Once completed, I will post the URL.  It will be important for each owner to fill out the form in its entirety for each engine issue experienced for statistical accuracy.

This will allow us to possibly track the issues to a build date, production run or any other relation/correlation we find.

The tables I have built in the database so far are: (if I forgot something, let me know and I will add it.)

Brief details of issue
Make
Model
Year (2007/2008)
Engine Size (Pre-populated with 110ci/1802cc)
VIN
Production Date
Did you purchase an Extended Warranty (Yes/No)
Warranty Duration Purchased
Mileage at the time of incident
Has an Authorized Dealer performed all required Service Intervals described in the Owner's Manual? (Yes/No)
Which Service Interval (1K, 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K)
Are you the original purchaser of the motorcycle?
Is your bike completely in its stock engine configuration? (Yes/No)
Engine Modifications if any: (Exhaust, Engine Tuner / Management Device, Air Cleaner, Cam, Other)
Did an Authorized Dealer perform the repair? (Yes/No)
What was the resolution for the repair?

Then all of your contact information...

I hope this will help!  Again, if I have excluded something you beleive that we should track; please let me know.
